Shanghai's Oriental Ladder Bilingual School is a private elementary and secondary school with students from first to ninth grades. The school curriculum revolves around English language and the idea that each student is confident to communicate in English to the best of their ability. We currently have available positions for ESL international teachers.

Requirements:

• Each Applicant must be a minimum of 21 years old.

• Speak English as a native language. Applicants whose native language is not English shall demonstrate that their command of the language and accent come fairly close to that of native speakers.

• Graduated with a three-year degree. Teaching certificate is a plus.

• Each Applicant is required to work 40 hours a week at the school. Classroom teaching hours do not exceed 20 classes a week, 35 minutes per class for primary school and 40 minutes for middle school.

• Chinese is not necessary.

Benefits and compensation:

• The Applicant will be subject to an initial 3 month probation period at the start of employment. Monthly salary starts at 8,000 RMB ($1310 USD) during the probation period. Continued employment and salary will be conditioned on the teacher’s satisfactory performance during this period.

• Free living accommodation provided by the school. Utility bills are not covered by the school.

• Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided during weekdays. On Friday only breakfast and lunch are provided.

• Medical insurance is paid.

• Airfare of 10,000 RMB ($1,600 USD) is reimbursed upon completion of one year contract.

• 9 paid holidays per year.

• Upon Applicant’s arrival to China, there will be a school staff member to arrange an airport pickup.
