Zhongyuan University of Technology, founded in 1955, is a public college of higher education run jointly by the state and Henan provincial government. Through the endeavors of several generations, the university has developed into one of the key comprehensive universities of science, economics, management, arts and law with engineering as its dominating sector. At present, the university consists of 18 schools and departments and offers 19 postgraduate programs and 46 undergraduate programs to over 15,000 full-time students. The university boasts an excellent faculty experienced in teaching, research and administration. Among the 838 full-time teachers, 298 are professors and associate professors and 442 of them have degrees of Masters or Doctors. There are also 40 visiting professors working for the university.
The university boasts a number of key disciplines and laboratories of provincial level as well as many research centers, of which the most important and famous are as follows: the Center of Textile Engineering and Technology, the Center of Fashion CAD Development&Application, the Center of Electrostatic Testing, Nano-meter Compounds Research Center, Automation Laboratory, the Research Center of Energy and Enviroment Engineering, the Research Center of Systems and Industry Engineering Technology, Electric Engineering Research Center,the Center of Middle-China Finery Culture and Fine Arts Design . These research centers and laboratories not only provide support for teaching, but also play an active role in promoting the development of local economy.In the past three years, the staff has taken on 148 various scientific and researching projects of national and provincial level. In 2004 and 2005, the universitywere successively ranked the first among the Henan Provincial Academics in terms of patent acceptance volume. The university published three academic journals, namely ¡° Transaction of ZUT ¡±, ¡° Group Techniques and Modernized Industry ¡± and ¡° Henan Textile Science and Technology ¡± enjoying considerable fame in the professional fileds. The library of University owns various collections of 15,000,000 books with 12 databases in Chinese and English. Its international-connected function of information searching, electronic reading room and MSL form a books information system of resourceful literature and information based on network. With its well-developed computer network, the university has been awarded the title of ¡°Model Digitalized Campus of Henan Higher Education Academy¡± by Henan Provincial Department of Education.

Nanchang Institute of Technology is situated in Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi Province, which is a city with long history on the south of Yangtze River and bears fame for being with abundant resources and outstanding people. The institute, originally known as Jiangxi Water Resources College, was founded in 1958 and has its history of 47 years so far. The institute was formerly directed by the State Ministry of Water Resources before the year of 2000, and is constructed jointly by the provincial and central governments later on, but managed and financed principally by the former at the present time.
Nanchang institute of Technology consists of two campuses?Pengqiao campus and Yaohu campus with a distance of 11 kilometers between them. Pengqiao campus is adjacent to the scenery Qingshanhu Lake, while Yaohu Lake campus is located by the water undulating Yaohu Lake. Two campuses cover an area of nearly 135 hectares and the buildings have a total floor space of over 500,000 square meters, among which includes 247,000 square meters of teaching, experimenting and administrative buildings. The institute boasts its advanced laboratories and on-campus practicing bases as well which meet the needs of teaching requirements. The library of the institute covers a space of 33,000 square meters and boasts more than 600,000 printed books and approximately 300,000 electronic books. A campus LAN based on kilomega optical fiber network has been completed in the main and it has become a modern platform for teaching, research and administration. The campuses of the institute are in beautiful surroundings with green trees, blue water, exquisite pavilions, quiet paths, murmuring stream. All these make the campuses ideal surroundings for learning and living life.
The institute has 13 faculties or departments, including the department of water conservancy™Cthe department of civil engineering, the department of ecological & environmental engineering, the department of mechanic & dynamic engineering, the department of electronic & electric engineering, the department of computer science & technology, the department of humanities, the department of mathematical science, the department of management engineering, the department of economy, the department of foreign languages, the school of international education and the faculty of the arts. It holds 21 four-year teaching programs conferring bachelor™fs degree, 40 three-year teaching programs and has formed a structure of disciplines and specialties putting engineering as its main courses and emphasizing on multidiscipline coordinative development. It has revealed its distinctive advantages to the talents fostering and scientific research in the aspects of water conservancy, electronic information technology, mechanic electrical engineering technology and ecological environment engineering etc. The institute persists in the direction of fostering technological application talents with the principles of facing the society, facing the water resources and facing the work units at the basic level, and has already fostered great sum of advanced professional talents for the frontline of production and administration.
The institute presently has over 15,000 full-time students and 5,000 part-time students, who come from 31 different provinces, cities and autonomous regions of China while the students from other places cover approximately 50%. The institute attaches importance to international cooperative education and takes endeavor to seeking cooperative partners to establish relationships of steady cooperation and intercommunication so as to promote the globalization of education.
