The Job

Our kindergarten is now holding interviews for creative, patient and enthusiastic English teachers who possess the heart and passion to teach young learners between 2 to 6 years old. Our international education service is built upon more than 80 years of quality international education of our mother school. Our research and development team are continually developing our own course materials and curriculum to put together the best elements of Eastern and Western education. Our teachers are qualified, experienced, caring and dedicated to their work. Our foreign teachers are capable of addressing the different learning needs that are age-appropriate to different young learners. Teachers are encouraged to develop their own teaching strategies and methods. They can teach through songs, dance, art, games and activities that are related to the weekly topic provided. With the help of the local Chinese teachers, they can work together and plan lessons and activities every week. The use of multimedia, interactive whiteboard and flash cards along with the provided textbooks are strongly advised. We also provide ongoing professional training programs to our teachers which are adapted from well-established methodologies and teaching systems to enhance their professionalism and effectiveness.

Chongqing – The City

Chongqing is situated on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River in Sichuan province in the west of China, not far from Tibet. It is a large and fast changing city, known as “Mountain City”, spread around a mountain; you will be always walking either up or down. It really is a city of changes, mixing modern development with local traditions and small local neighborhoods.

Chongqing is endowed with rich natural scenery, boasting mountains, rivers, forests springs, waterfalls, gorges and caves. It also showcases the area's rich cultural heritage, including the minority Bayu culture, Three Gorges and the modern, developed city itself-including the Yangtze River Cruises.

Chongqing is especially well known for its food. People love to eat here and you will find thousands of restaurants featuring all kinds of delicious dishes to feast on. Most famous is the spicy hot pot. Chili pepper, sesame, fermented black beans, scallions, ginger, garlic, wine, soy sauce and an array of flavorings are used in almost 40 different cooking methods.

< br>Main Responsibilities

-Maximum of 27.5 teaching hours per week

-40-hour work week including teaching hours

-Plan lessons and activities that are age-appropriate

-Teach according to the given topic

-Teach English songs or art that are related to the current topic

-Work together with local teachers in planning weekly lessons

-Occasional weekend classes

Compensation

-Excellent salary: 12,000 RMB per month

-Housing allowance provided: 2,000 RMB per month

-Round-trip flight reimbursement provided (Half upon arrival, the other half upon contract completion)

-Contract completion bonus: 12,000 RMB

-11 days national holidays plus up to 5 weeks paid holidays during winter and summer vacations

-12 days sick leave (500 RMB per day will be rewarded for every sick leave that is not used)

-Free lunch provided during working schedule

-Legal ‘Z’ work visa

-Staff orientation and on-going professional training

Requirements

-Bachel or’s degree

-TEFL certificate preferred but not required (No TEFL? – We recommend INTESOL http://www.GoldStarTeachers.com/INTESOL)

-1 year experience teaching young learners required

-Native English speaker preferred but non-native candidates with good teaching experience and qualifications are welcome to apply
