The Job

EF English First, Hangzhou is looking for a bright, motivated and experienced English teachers to join its teaching team. This is an ideal position for someone who wants to move their teaching career forward with a well established company.

We opened our first school in 2001 and now have four schools in different, major areas of the city. We have a school for adults and children, a school for children & teenagers, a Smart School for adults, and a CLT school for corporate clients. At any one time we employ a total of 20 foreign English teachers throughout our 5 schools so there are always plenty of people to socialize with.

All students are given a personal placement test by our foreign teachers to assess prospective students’ English ability and place them in the correct school and class. Teachers will be teaching a majority of young learner class (aged 4 to 17) as well as some adult classes (aged 17+).

Hangzhou is the capital of Zhejiang province and is located not far south of Shanghai. The city is regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in China with numerous historic relics and natural beauty. Most famous for its picturesque West Lake, elected as a National Key Scenic location due to its historical and cultural significance and many temples, pagodas, ponds and plants.

The city is one of the most livable in China with a natural balance of local Chinese culture and Western amenities providing a dynamic atmosphere of live music, cafes and bars, a variety of events and an eclectic mixture of people from all over the world. Main Responsibilities

· Maximum of 20 hours teaching per week

· Lesson planning

· Use audio / video materials in classes

· Assist in the placement testing and interviewing of new students

· Carry out teaching related responsibilities including, but not limited to demonstration classes, conversation clubs, tutorials, seminars and presentations

· Attend centre social events

Compensation

· Excellent salary: 9,000 RMB per month for teachers with no experience

· Excellent salary: 9,500 RMB per month for teachers with under 1 years teaching experience

· Excellent salary: 10,000 RMB per month for teachers with between 1 and 3 years teaching experience

· Excellent salary: 11,000 – 12,000 RMB per month for teachers with 3 years or more teaching experience

· Free accommodation: Western style, near the school or 1,700 RMB housing allowance per month

· Flight allowance: 9,000 RMB half payable after 6 months, half after 12 months

· Legal ‘Z’ work visa provided by the school

· 12 days public holidays plus 10 days extra holidays

· Insurance

· Bonuses: up to 1,500 RMB for each quarterly appraisal

· On-going training and academic support

· Salary increases in subsequent years with EF Hangzhou

· Promotion opportunities within the EF network

· Free training for TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) training and test for the first year

· Teacher referral bonus: 3,000 RMB per teacher successfully introduced and hired

· 12,000RMB Study allowance (receipt with reimbursement) after renewing a 2-year contract.
