The Shenzhen Education Bureau is now hiring energetic and highly motivated teachers for a 1-year contract in the booming city of Shenzhen, China. This is your opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children who really need and enthusiastically APPRECIATE your efforts, while gaining valuable cross-cultural experience and witnessing the dynamism of Hong Kong’s sister city on the mainland.
Compensation and Benefits:
• Accommodation provided (including utilities and Internet), or teacher may elect a 3,600 RMB per month accommodation allowance plus a 500 RMB per month work commute allowance (total 4,100 RMB accommodation and work commute allowance).
• Workday meals (breakfast and lunch) provided.
• 14,600 RMB (USD $2,300) monthly salary, inclusive of monthly housing and work commute allowance - a GREAT COMPENSATION package that goes a long way in Shenzhen!!
• A few 25,000 RMB (USD $4,000) monthly salary positions will become available in the Spring, as well as next Fall for teachers who fill the current offered positions and have 5 years of teaching experience.
• Teachers will be supported by our AMERICAN-OWNED Education Services company with a local office and American staff in Shenzhen. AND for teachers interested in pursuing additional work (to add to their salaries) in the evenings and/or weekends, we can place you in nearby privately owned English training centers, earning between 120 - 150 RMB per hour (3 to 12 additional hours available per week for teachers interested in adding to their income and who love teaching - make up to an additional 6,300 RMB, almost USD $1,000 extra, per month).
• Social insurance (health insurance and worker’s comp).
• Travel/airfare reimbursement/allowance after first semester of RMB 5,000 (USD $785) and an additional 5,000 RMB at the end of the employment contract - to reimburse you for the flight to China and to provide the funds for a return flight.
• Z visa provided at employer expense.
• Free Chinese lessons.
Teacher Requirements:
• College degree (2 or 4 year) (proof of diploma required).
• 2 years prior teaching experience.
• Teaching certification from state or local accreditation body. TESOL, TEFL or TESL also acceptable in lieu of a teaching certificate.
• A passion for educating young learners (K through 12).
• English language fluency, including, but not limited to: proper grammar, sentence structure, word tense, subject-verb agreement, and proper use of adjectives and adverbs.
• Demonstration of neutral accent, clear pronunciation, good intonation and English language rhythm.
• No prior criminal record (required for Visa).
• Under 60 years of age.
Job Description:
Teachers will deliver lessons in English as a Second Language (ESL), including a range of reading, writing, speaking and listening course material and curriculum. Workweeks will consist of18 hours teaching and 22 hours office related and teaching-support activities.
