English First Qinhuangdao is now recruiting qualified teachers who are energetic and are capable of delivering excellent quality education to young learners aged 4 to 16 years old. Our school in Qinhuangdao was established in 2002. With over 900 students at this moment, we have 10 foreign and local teachers in our team who are committed to providing high academic standards and enabling real progress for each and every young learner. Although we provide structured courses with plenty of supplementary material, we encourage our teachers to put in their own creativity in each class and make learning a unique adventure for every student.

Qinhuangdao – The City

Qinhuangdao is located in Hebei province, in the north east of China not far from Beijing. Today, the city has become a green and charming place and was host to football games for the 2008 Olympic Games. There are well developed service facilities, good urban infrastructure and convenient traffic that greatly promotes the further development of the city. The city is also well-known for where The Great Wall of China meets the sea, known as the “Old Dragon’s Head”. Qinhuangdao has a population of 3 million and provides all the amenities you would expect from a city, including excellent restaurants, sports facilities, shopping and bars and cafes to enjoy.

Qinhuangdao is also well known for having some of the best beaches in China and is a popular destination in during the warm summers. The surrounding scenery is lush and mountainous and the water is shallow and clean, making for a beautiful summertime retreat.

Main Responsibilities

-Maximum of 20-27 teaching hours per week

-13-20 hours admin work per week

-Teach a variety of English classes that are age-appropriate

-Use our computer-based class administration system to input students’ grades and lesson contents

-Make good use of our extensive course materials and technology in the classroom

-Plan lessons and prepare teaching materials in advance for all classes

-Provide reports on students’ progress and development

-Take part in marketing activities

-Assist in the placement testing and interviewing of new students

-Carry out teaching related responsibilities including, but not limited to demonstration classes, conversation clubs, tutorials, seminars and presentations

-Attend and organize center social events

-Attend weekly trainings and joint trainings

Compensation

-Excellent salary: 7,000 RMB per month (6,500 RMB for two month probation period)

-Teachers with more than one year teaching experience gets an additional 1,000 RMB per month

-Options for free shared housing accommodation or housing allowance: 600 RMB per month

-Flight allowance provided: 9,000 RMB (half after 6 months, half after 12 months)

-Cash bonuses for successful placement testing, demo teaching and high customer satisfaction scores

Requirements

-Native English speaker preferred although we can consider non-natives with fluent English
