The WELL College has been providing English instruction for Chinese students since 1988. English instruction is a highly competitive business in China but what sets WELL apart from the others is the program and program delivery.

There is a set curriculum at all levels of instruction. Current up to date text books are used in all subject areas. The school calendar is planned a year in advance enabling the students to know well in advance the course schedule.

There is a Qualifying Program designed to help the beginning learner of English as a Second Language to develop competence in communication skills at an elementary level by presenting the basic functions of grammar and vocabulary. As the student develops a basic foundation in reading, writing, speaking, listening and comprehension, the major focus will be placed on developing listening and speaking skills.

There is a Combined Studies program which is open to students with a College degree or at least six years of high school. This course includes Business and World Cultures in the curriculum which will require a higher level of English than that of the Basic level.

The General English Studies Program is the second year of the Combined Studies program or may be taken by someone with a 3 year university course and a minimum of 6 years of English instruction. Every attempt is made to instruct the student at his/her level of instruction. At the conclusion of this course many students are fluent in the English language.

Work Conditions

Ø 24 classes per week (each class is 50 minutes)

Ø 2 office hours per week

Ø 7,000 - 8,000 RMB monthly salary

Ø 10,000 RMB airfare upon completion of 12 month contract
