The Job

We are now recruiting professional and creative English teachers who are passionate about providing an engaging educational experience to our young learners. Our students are between ages 2 to 6 years old. As we aim to expand this coming year, we are looking for great talents to be a part of our team.

We are the first international kindergarten to be established in Xiamen, running on western system and following the childhood program from Australia. One of our objectives is to set ourselves apart from language centers by creating a unique learning structure and complete English immersion for our young learners.

We are also looking for foreign teachers who are able to run and manage a class effectively while also ensuring classes are lively and fun for the students. We expect the foreign teachers to teach English as well as math. Our school has already created a solid educational framework for the teachers can work from and plan lessons and activities. You will be working with a team of two other professional teachers in each class.

We have an extensive collection of teaching resources in addition to our course materials from Australia which includes teaching realia, educational toys and multi-media. We encourage our teachers to promote learning through playing, singing and dancing. Our foreign principal will provide professional one-on-one training before you start teaching.

Xiamen – The City

Located at the southeast coast of China, Xiamen is a tourist city of Fujian Provincefamous for its attractive coastal beauty. The name of 'Xiamen' was consequently given, which means 'a gate of China'. As one of the forerunners of the special economic zones of China, Xiamen mainly consisting of Xiamen Island,Gulangyu Island, the north bank area of the Jiulong River and Tong'an County, is connected with the mainland by the Xiamen Bridge. The city is well known for its beautiful natural scenery, fresh air and the clean environment.

Xiamen has plenty of special local products that are worth noting, including various kinds of tealeaves, fruits like sugarcanes, olives and longans as well as sea products such as fish, prawns, crabs, abalones and lancelets.

Main Responsibilities

-40-hour work week

-Stay with the students the whole day (not necessarily teaching all the time)

-Plan lessons and activities that are age-appropriate ahead of time

-Teach English, math and art to young learners

-Work with a team of professional teachers

-Classes are from Monday to Friday between 8:30 – 4:30

-Provide weekly reports on students’ progress and development

-Attend meetings and trainings

Compensation

-Excel lent salary: 10,000 – 14,000 RMB per month (depending on qualifications and experience)

-Shared accommodation provided (shared with 2 other teachers in a big apartment, fully-furnished)

-Airfare allowance provided: 5,000 RMB (paid at the end of the contract year)

-11 days national holidays plus up to 8 weeks of paid holidays during summer and winter vacation

-Options to work during summer vacation with paid with 50% more than the regular salary

-Lunch provided during working schedule

Requirements

-Bachelo r’s degree

-TEFL certificate required (No TEFL? – We recommend INTESOL http://www.GoldStarTeachers.com/INTESOL)

-Native English speakers preferred but candidates with fluent English and good experience are welcome to apply

-At least 2 years’ experience teaching young learners (or Master’s degree / degree in Early Childhood Education instead)

-Energetic and passionate in teaching young learners
