Working at Capstone:

Our Beijing office places a strong emphasis on education and teaching, with all our instructors serving primarily in a teaching capacity. Here, you will deliver thoughtful, impactful lessons to highly motivated and curious students. You will develop curricula for student groups between the ages of 10 and 18, bringing your particular background and skills to the challenge. You will guide and mentor promising students as they navigate their way through the educational system.

We work with students studying under a variety of different educational systems, from the American K-12 system, to the British GCE ‘O’ and ‘A’ Levels, to the International Baccalaureate. This exposure to a range of curricula provides valuable insights into how education in China mirrors or differs from our instructors’ own experiences.

As the political and cultural capital of China, Beijing offers our instructors an excellent way to plug into a thriving educational ecosystem, a valuable strategic advantage in an increasingly interconnected world. Capstone instructor alumni have gone on to get their Masters in Education at the best universities in the US, been accepted to prestigious law schools, or chosen to make education a full-time career, both here and at other organizations.

Job description (Instructors):

We are looking for intelligent and driven instructors who are committed to student development. While all of our instructors have impressive backgrounds, they also possess enthusiasm and a diverse range of life experiences that engage and grow our students. Beyond this charisma and intelligence, we look for a moral aptitude and personal character that allows these instructors to be appropriate role models for developing youth.

Academic Writing
- Teach classes that expose students to a wide variety of writing and literary concepts, including genre recognition, expository and persuasive writing, vocabulary building, editing and organization, critical analysis, stylistic techniques, and writing style and voice
- Teach AP and IB English courses that will prepare students to take and excel in those exams
- Help our students become the most articulate, persuasive, and descriptive writers they can be

Critical Thinking / Scholars Program
- Teach students Critical Thinking, Strategy, and Negotiations
- Prepare students to become accomplished debaters and participants in Model UN / Mock Trial
- Develop students’ communication skills alongside critical thinking through enrichment programs
