Teach in China - ESL Teacher Need for Immediate Hire
Native English Speakers Needed to Teach English in China
The International Academic Alliance (IAA) is looking for highly qualified teachers for full-time employment. Teachers will provide instruction in Intensive Academic English as part of the University in the High School (UHS) program.
The UHS curriculum prepares students to thrive in an American higher education setting, with particular emphasis placed on SAT/TOEFL preparation and to provide support to succeed in UHS coursework where instruction in other subjects is given in English. By exposing students to a rich range of English reading materials, as well as providing instruction typical of a language course -- vocabulary building, grammar and syntax drills, public speaking, and pronunciation -- teachers provide dynamic English instruction that will ensure students' ability to participate in an American classroom. Successful applicants will be provided training, teaching manuals, and course syllabi for a rigorous, but rewarding curriculum.
Applicants must be willing to relocate to the following major cities throughout China for a term starting at the end of August 2012 and extending through January 2013, with particular preference given to those applicants willing to commit to a 1-yr academic contract through the end of June 2013.
- Jinan
- Wuxi
- Mianyang
- Changsha
- Guilin
- Yinchuan
An ability to adapt to a new culture and previous experience teaching or traveling abroad is preferred, but not always required.
Hourly Commitment:
Teachers will instruct 20 hrs per week and will spend 10 additional hrs per week to conduct writing labs and hold one-on-one student conferences.
Salary:
$2,000 US/month
Health Care:
Full benefits included.
Airfare:
Round trip airfare provided
Room and Board:
IAA's partnerships ensure excellent working and living conditions for all instructors, including accommodation, daily cafeteria lunch, and free local transportation provided. There are also opportunities for cultural exchange and language classes available to those interested.
