Teach in Guangzhou
Beacon College UK, a British company, requires a General English teacher to start at once mainly to prepare students for TOEFL at Huanggang Middle School,Guangzhou.
The role will be to teach around 15 hours of General English (four skills) full time Monday-Friday to Intermediate students aged 16 (around 20 students per class). The initial focus will be on TOEFL and ACT. Students will also be taking the GAC or CIE International A-levels in numerate subjects to gain entry to international universities. The A-Level and GAC classes follow a set curriculum.
The Middle School is on a new campus opened in 2011. The teaching staff is 50/50 Chinese and foreign. The school is 10 minutes' bus ride from a large shopping centre and 15 minutes’ drive from the airport. Beacon College in the UK has a website at http://www.beaconcollegeuk.com. Conditions at Huanggang Middle School are similar.
You will be working in a small team and must be prepared to be flexible. Beacon College will do everything it can to make your time with us pleasant and rewarding.
We offer the following remuneration package: 12,000 RMB monthly salary payable into a local or foreign bank account. The school will provide private accommodation at company expense, excluding utility bills. Accommodation is about 10 minutes’ walk from the campus, and a bus is provided each morning to take the teachers to the school. The school will also provide a monthly benefit allowance for meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at the school canteen worth RMB 400. A flight allowance of 8,000RMB will be paid on completion of one academic year.
Applicants must be native speakers of English, have a degree plus CELTA or equivalent, have solid experience of preparing students for TOEFL, be eligible to work in the People’s Republic of China, have at least two years’ full time EFL teaching experience and be able to commit to working until next July.
