Weekdays you will have at most 2 classes per day. But for your first month here I doubt you'll have more than 4 classes all week. So it should be an easy start. You could just watch other peoples classes and stuff.

Students are 3-12 years old.

The youngest kids is more about just playing games and stuff rather than hardcore learning.

There are no more than 12 students in each class. So it doesn't get crazy. You can do games and ask questions 1-1 and stuff.

You have your own CT (Chinese teacher). The same CT for all your classes so you get to know them and co-operate with each other.

Your assistant is Chinese but speaks English too. They assist you when you first arrive with setting up stuff. Like getting internet in your apartment and stuff. Or getting a bicycle or bus card sorted out. Just any initial issues you would speak to them or to me.

The city

Taiyuan, the capital of Shanxi province. Its not a massive city. There's maybe about 90 foreigners in the city in total.

It's not a super city but you get to know places and people and you'd hopefully feel a bit at home once you settle in.

Taiyuan loves foreigners.. you get discount and free stuff here just for being foreign.

There's always a club doing free drinks for foreigners. At the moment there's a new bar, MUSE, which is free drinks all might for foreigners 3-4 days a week.

UK impressions. A new western restaurant. Half price Pizza and Burgers on Wednesdays!!! Good foooood.

There's a few cafés and stuff too which are half price for foreigners on food and drink.

Do you like Chinese food? That's kind of important isn't it? I need to like the food where I'm living. I like Chinese food so it's easy for me. You can eat as cheap or expensive as you like.

Can get meals for 10RMB or can get expensive buffets for 200.

For our lunch break on weekdays we usually go in small nearby restaurants at about 9-12RMB per dish.

There's buffets for like 50RMB per person. With drinks included. Hot Pot or BBQ etc. Including beer

If I go for a chinese meal in a pretty nice place.. Say 3 of us. It rarely comes to over 100rmb betweenn us.

Initially you'd come here on a tourist visa. 1 months or 3 months. Then the school would renew and extend your visa once you are here. To a 6month or 1 year visa. The school always pay for the visa extension and any travel expenses for it.

You'd fly to Hong Kong airport in my opinion. It's the easiest place to get a visa, also the fastest way of getting a visa.

Upon getting the visa 24-48 hours later, you'd fly out to Taiyuan.
