The Job

Our school is currently recruiting qualified English teachers for young learners to be a part of our team of educators. Our school focuses on teaching children between the age range of 1 – 6 years old.

We are motivated to provide an interactive, multi-cultural curriculum set in a warm, bilingual environment. Ourunique program is designed to nurture positive development in children, laying a solid foundation for the lifelong growth of well-rounded individuals. Our team of energetic and caring educators consists of 12 foreign teachers and 12 local teachers with a total of 220 students.

Our program is centered on helping to grow the intellectual, physical and emotional attributes of children, by promoting a positive well-being through a combination of academic learning and motor skills development. We provide a genuinely bilingual educational environment, where all classes are taught incorporating both the English and Chinese language. We foster a multi-cultural understanding in our students, to prepare them for what will be an increasingly multi-cultural world.

Shanghai – The City

Known as the ‘Pearl of the Orient’, Shanghai is truly an international metropolis in every sense of the word. The most vibrant and progressive city in China, Shanghai is the economic and cultural center, blending an incredible mix of Eastern and Western culture. On one side of the mighty Yangtze River flowing through Shanghai is the Pu Dong district, rural farm land just 20 years ago; it is now the financial and commercial hub with skyscrapers stretching ever higher. Along the western bank of the river, the iconic Bund is a reminder of Shanghai’s colonial past featuring grand European architecture.

But despite its cosmopolitan reputation, pockets of quaint tradition remain alive and well, dotted throughout the city. Main Responsibilities
-Maximum of 30 teaching hours per week
-Monday to Friday classes (no weekend classes)
-Conduct classes that are fun and engaging
-Provide daily academic reviews
-Occasional field trips
-Co-teach and work closely with the Chinese local teacher in our bilingual school
-Attend teacher training sessions and meetings


Compensation
-Excellent salary: 15,000 – 20,000 RMB per month depending on qualifications and teaching ability
-One way airfare reimbursement provided after contract completion
-Up to 3 weeks of hotel accommodation provided, if necessary
-Legal Z-work visa provided
-Comprehensive insurance provided
-Onboard orientation provided
-10 days national holidays with up to 30 days paid personal holidays per year
-Optional paid overtime
-Lunch and snacks are provided during working schedule

Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree
-TEFL certificate required (at least 120 hours) (No TEFL? – We recommend INTESOL http://www.GoldStarTeachers.com/INTESOL)
-Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa or Ireland
-At least one year of teaching experience
-Excellent English speaking skills
-Motivated, energetic, professional, creative team players withpositive attitudes
