Students

The majority of our students are young learners aged from 3 to 14 years old and teachers enjoy teaching to a variety of ages throughout the week. Teacher training and support is seen as key at our institution and we provide a one week training program at the start of your contract as well as on-going training and support in the form of workshops, seminars, class observations from your Academic Manager.

Shanghai – The city

Known as the ‘Pearl of the Orient’, Shanghai is truly an international metropolis in every sense of the word. The most vibrant and progressive city in China, Shanghai is the economic and cultural center, blending an incredible mix of Eastern and Western culture. On one side of the mighty Yangtze River flowing through Shanghai is the Pu Dong district, rural farm land just 20 years ago, it is now the financial and commercial hub with skyscrapers stretching ever higher. Along the western bank of the river, the iconic Bund is a reminder of Shanghai’s colonial past featuring grand European architecture.

For those who like to shop, party and eat, Shanghai has all you could possibly want and more. But despite its cosmopolitan reputation, pockets of quaint tradition remain alive and well, dotted throughout the city. Explore countless old markets, back streets crammed with local eateries and discover incense filled temples still central to the locals’ daily life.

Job Duties

-18-20 hours teaching per week

-Lesson planning

-Take part in school parties and events

Compensation

-Excellent salary: 10,000 – 12,000 RMB per month (depending on location, qualifications and teaching ability)

-House allowance: 1,000 RMB per month

-Legal ‘Z’ work visa

-(Paid) 12 days public holidays plus 10 days extra holidays

-Performance related bonus: up to 5,000 RMB paid after contract completion

-End of contract bonus: up to 5,000RMB

-Assistance in finding accommodation

-On-going training and academic support

-Promotion opportunities to Senior Teacher and Academic Manager within the school’s network

Requirements

-Bachelor’s degree

-Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland or South Africa

-Experience teaching young learners preferred
