The Job

Our school is now looking for enthusiastic, positive and qualified English teachers who have the genuine desire to teach young learners aged 3 to 15 years old. Established in 1997, our school has more than 40 campuses across Taiwan and China. We aim to provide the best quality English education that we can offer. We offer a relaxing and accommodating work environment that also stimulates creativity and personal growth. We are currently looking for teachers to join our close-knit teams at schools in the cities of Shenzhen, Nanjing and Dongguan. Our young learners have the opportunity to learn in modern, safe, all-English environment. We also provide a series of well-researched and well-structured curriculum which follows the North American standards. We provide education which has a balanced distribution on speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. We encourage our foreign teachers to create a fun and educational learning environment. With a maximum class size of 12 students, the foreign teachers and the young learners have more opportunity to interact and be acquainted with one another. A local teaching assistant will be available in every classroom to assist with the administrative side of running a class such as communicating with parents. We put great emphasis on quality education and we achieve that through our professional teachers’ training, on-going management support and promotional opportunities given to all the teachers.

The Curriculum

We offer two different programs for students: “Early Starter Programs” are for young learners aged 3 to 6 years old. It uses a series of English course materials developed by our very own research and development department. The textbooks cover areas such as phonics, vocabularies and conversation. A large part of the program is music where we developed over 60 songs for young learners. The lyrics of the songs are all associated with the content of our conversation books. The other program is the “Elementary Program” which is for older students between 7 to 15 years old. The course materials consist of a series of English textbooks developed by McGraw Hill, an American publishing company. The subjects learned are Spelling, Language Arts, Phonics, Dolch Sight Words, Reading and Writing.

Shenzhen – The City

Shenzhen is located in the southern portion of the Guangdong Province, on the eastern shore of the Pearl River Delta. Neighboring the Pearl River Delta andHong Kong(located just south of Shenzhen), Shenzhen's location gives it a geographical advantage for economic development. Shenzhen is considered as one of the richest cities in the country which offers foreigners a great insight into contemporary China. From a small fishing village 30 years ago, Shenzhen has turned into a city filled with dynamic energy and on its way to becoming a world-class metropolis. Shenzhen is also known for its famous architecture, bars, restaurants, art scenes and shopping areas.

Nanjing – The City

Located on the south bank of the Yangtze River, Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu Province, is one of the most delightful destinations in China. Known as the capital city of six dynasties in ancient Chinese history, it has a brilliant cultural heritage.

Like most major cities in China, Nanjing is developing rapidly. Great changes have taken place in the city. Modern highways and railways connect the city with most major cities throughout the country and it is becoming a sparkling metropolis akin to Shanghai and Beijing with skyscrapers, luxury hotels, fashion shopping malls, supermarkets and highly-developed economic zones throughout the city.

Dongguan - The City
Dongguan is located in central Guangdong province in the south east of China, 31 miles south of Guangzhou and just 47 miles from Hong Kong and has a population of 7 million people.

Dongguan has many historical spots, especially relics of the Opium War, also known as the Anglo-Chinese Wars, which lasted from 1839 to 1842 and 1856 to 1860. There are many fortifications used during the period, as well as other attractions and museums devoted to the era.

Main Responsibilities
-Maximum of 25 - 27 teaching hours per week
-Approximately 10 hours admin work per week
-Plan lessons and classroom activities
-Write monthly reports on each student’s progress and development
-Weekend classes with 2 days off during the week
-Assist in school’s promotional events
-Conduct demo classes to potential new students
-Attend staff meeting and teacher training
-Teach students fluency in verbal, listening, reading and written English
-Introduce students to western cultures and festivals

Compensation
Full package worth up to 14,110 RMB, which breaks down as follows:

-Excellent salary: 7,500 RMB per month
-Free housing accommodation (Studio type and fully furnished)
-Airfare allowance on contract completion: 3,000 RMB
-Additional 400 RMB per month for teachers with Education degree
-Salary increase of 500 RMB per month after teaching for 6 months
-Utility allowance: 200 RMB per month
-Attendance bonus: 600 RMB per month
-Regional bonus: from 1,000 RMB per month
-Hard work bonus: 450 RMB per month
-Performance bonus: 1,200 RMB every semester
-Christmas bonus: 1,000 RMB paid on Christmas day
-Vacation bonus: 1,000 RMB paid before Chinese holiday break
-Contract completion bonus: 6,000 RMB
-Annual salary increase
-11 days national holidays plus 5 paid personal holidays
-Legal ‘Z’ work visa
-Lunch and dinner provided during working schedule

Requirements
-Bachelor’ s degree
-TEFL certificate preferred but not required (No TEFL? – We recommend INTESOL http://www.GoldStarTeachers.com/INTESOL)
-Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa or Ireland
-Must have graduated at least 2 years ago
-Teaching experience preferred
-Fluency in oral and written English

-Patient, enthusiastic and passionate in teaching young learners
