Teachers Needed to Start Work in May in Beautiful Southern Thailand
Time2Talk English Academy Thailand is recruiting full time teachers to work in various locations in beautiful Southern Thailand. Teachers must be in Thailand by the last week in April to participate in orientation training. We assist you in finding suitable housing and generally settle you in. The new academic year starts around the second week of May.
If you are passionate about this profession and you are travelling to teach, we will be very interested to hear from you. Ideally we are looking for people who are considering making Thailand their home or genuine candidates who are planning to stay for a minimum of one academic year.
We have positions available in which you will earn a competitive monthly salary based on around 25 contact hours per week. The remaining positions we have available operate on a competitive pay per hour system linked to monthly housing support. In simple terms you get out what you put in! Our business operates on the basis that teachers work hard and generate a good level of income based on their own efforts. It is hard work and our expectations are high, but what you will receive in return is visa support, a fully funded work permit, competitive uncapped earnings and genuine opportunities for career progression.

We are looking for teachers to live and work in Bangkok and the provinces of Suratthani and Chumphon. Each location has its own unique flavour. Suratthani is the gateway to the beautiful beaches of the south. Chumphon town is a popular beach side location but some of the positions we have are around 60 km north of the main town in a small rural community and would suit only self motivated and truly adventurous teachers who want to absorb themselves in the local culture.
Please find below more detailed information about each individual location to give you a realistic view of what you can expect living and working in these areas. It is my hope that when you apply you can select a particular location that you feel will suit you.
The rural locations come with a warning! Please think very carefully before you apply for these positions. You must be certain about your desire to live and work as one of the only foreigners in the town!
We work with various schools in Southern Thailand and they trust us to find suitable candidates for these positions. To take on the role in a rural area and then to decide after three weeks that you are unable to exist in this environment causes many problems, particularly for the students who very quickly form a bond with their foreign teacher.
Rural locations with Time2Talk English Academy
Do you have a spirit for adventure? Do you want to immerse yourself in local culture? Do you want to work away from the tourists? Are you self motivated and able to work alone? Does being the only foreigner in a community interest you? If you are answering yes to these questions then read on.
We need qualified and talented individuals to work in a deeply rural location in southern Thailand. You need to have the desire to work within the local Thai community. Monday to Friday you will be working in one of two delightful government schools which run English language programs. Although the locations are rural the working conditions and facilities are good.
If you start to crave contact with your fellow foreigners the towns of Suratthani and Chumphon are a train or bus ride away. These are the places you can head for at the weekend if you want to get to the beautiful islands of Koh Samui or Koh Tao.
Term starts the second week of May so we need you here by the end of April so we can get you settled in to the local community, complete orientation and cultural training and generally get you ready for class.
Suratthani
Senior School, Junior School and Kindergarten teachers needed.
We are looking for dynamic, qualified and energetic native speakers to join our experienced and well established team in Suratthani. The successful applicants will be teaching at a government or private school and in our Language Academy in the town and will be working on the pay per hour system. The successful applicants need to have high levels of energy, a strong work ethic and bundles of enthusiasm. Be ready and able to teach at all levels, knowledge of the TEFL methodology or any other relevant ESL teaching techniques is preferred.
The kindergarten teacher will teach K1 to K3 in a private Catholic school in the town. You will be primarily working during the morning but you will have some afternoon classes and additional classes at our language academy in the town. You will be working in a well resourced and air-conditioned school with a Thai teaching assistant.
The remaining schools are both government and private schools where you will be teaching children from 7 to 18 years old depending on your preference and placement. All of our schools are close to the town.
Chumphon
We are looking for dynamic and energetic ESL professionals to join our team in the province of Chumphon. You will be working within an English program with highly motivated and bright students. This small and friendly school has very comfortable working conditions, a teacher’s assistant and an air conditioned teacher's room.
The other two schools are located in rural communities 60 km north of Chumphon town. We need one trainee teacher to work in a local government school. You will be the only foreign teacher in this school and teaching students from the age of 12 to 18. You will be supplied with a free house within the school grounds. Utilities are also free but keep in mind you will be living on school property amongst other Thai teachers. This will be a salaried position with working hours of 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday.
In the second rural school we need two teachers to work as a team teaching both kindergarten and junior school kids. This would ideally suit a couple that have a desire to work as a team in the same school.
Bangkok
We are looking for full or part time teachers to work in two foreigner friendly schools, one in a leafy suburb of Bangkok, the other in the heart of the city. The successful applicants will be teaching kindergarten and junior school children.

Qualifications / Information
Applicants must hold a bachelor degree in any field. This is required to enable us to obtain a work permit for you. The most important qualification is your teaching certificate. All applicants should have a TEFL qualification, CELTA or any other relevant ESL qualification. Please bring all original certificates with you, they are required by the Ministry of Education during the visa and work permit application process. Teachers are now required to take a blood test and to submit a medical certificate for their visa and work permit applications. You will be tested for drug or alcohol abuse and a short list of other medical conditions.
Applicants who do not have a teaching qualification but possess energy and a desire to learn will also be considered.
We offer orientation and ongoing training to all our teachers. Part of your orientation training will be observing our teachers in local schools, or in one of our Language Academies. You may also be asked to teach a class prior to starting work. This class will be observed and reviewed. You will not receive payment for this class; it is part of the orientation process.
