Teachers to Teach English, Social Studies, or Sciences
We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic, creative and inspiring teachers to teach English, social studies, or sciences in Wuxi, China
Job Descriptions:
1. Contract duration: 1 year, renewable for another year
2. Courses: English speaking, writing, reading and literature; social studies; sciences.
3. Workload: up to 20 teaching hours per week (Mon – Fri).
4. Student ages: 13-16.
5. Class size: up to 30/class.
Qualifications:
1. Native speakers of English
2. Bachelor’s degree or higher in any discipline with Education, English, Economics or Science major a plus
3. Certified teachers preferred, but not required
5. Some teaching experience, with ESL experience a plus
Compensation/Benefits:
1. A salary of 8,000-15,000 RMB/month contingent upon relevant experience, degree status, certification, teaching subject and other factors
2. The school will pay on the teacher’s behalf all Chinese taxes accrued from the salary.
3. Contract completion bonus of one extra month salary at the end of the one-year contract
3. 10 paid holidays per year
4. 3 paid weeks of winter vacation around Chinese New Year
5. Free furnished apartment (utilities included) with a/c, kitchen, TV, etc.
6. Free health insurance
7. One round-trip flight between US, Canada, or UK and China
8. Airport pickup
About the School:
Founded in 1993, Big Bridge Experimental High School is a fully accredited, non-profit, coeducational independent school educating approximately 2,300 gifted and talented students in grades 7-12. The academic goal of the school is to provide selected students a specialized education that emphasizes on the acquisition of knowledge and the development of abilities.
In recent years, 100% of its students graduate to four-year colleges with many of them ending up in the nation’s top schools such as Tsinghua, Peking, Fudan, Nanjing, etc. Starting from 1996, about a dozen 9th graders are each year admitted with full scholarships into Hwa Chong Institution and Nanyang Girl’s High School of Singapore to complete their high school education. Many of them have ultimately enrolled into world-renowned institutions, including Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Cambridge, and Oxford, among others.
The school is located in the downtown historical Xueqianjie neighborhood of Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, a city by the side of scenic Lake Tai with a population of 4.5 million. A big city 128 km/80 miles west of Shanghai, Wuxi can be easily accessed through air, by rail, or from the major highways passing through the city.
