Teaching at Chungwoon Korean School
Our school is situated in Qingdao, China and we have students ranging from kindergarten to Grade 12. Our classes aren’t big, and our students are full of energy and enthusiastic about learning, with varying levels of English proficiency and fluency.
We follow the Korean school calendar and are looking for one Native English Teacher to join our elementary faculty, and two Native English Teachers to join our secondary faculty at the start of the second semester on 22 August 2019.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
•15,000 RMB monthly (before tax)
•Sponsored legal Z work visa.
•Full reimbursement of visa application costs – Health check, authentication and notarization of qualifications, translation of qualifications and other documents, visa fees etc.
•Housing allowance of 3,000 RMB a month (3,500 RMB if you have a family). Housing allowance is given to the NET in lump sums of 18,000 RMB twice a year at the end of March and September.
•Up to 3,000 RMB entrance flight allowance.
•Up to 3,000 RMB exit flight allowance on final completion of employment.
•14,000 RMB severance pay on completion of one year contract.
•50 paid annual leave days (10 weeks), plus all Chinese national holidays.
•Airport pick-up on arrival.
•Free hotel accommodation for the first three nights.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Working hours – Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:30
Elementary: (up to 22 teaching hours (40 min) per week)
•Planning and delivering English lessons to Grade 1 - Grade 6 students using the provided textbooks
•Planning and executing formative assessments of students
•Teach English camps during summer and winter vacations
•Providing comments for proofreading on English Reading Portfolio
Secondary: (up to 22 teaching hours (45 min) per week)
•Planning and delivering English lessons to Grade 7 - Grade 11 students using the provided textbooks
•Planning and executing formative assessments of students and setting of exam papers
•Assisting with school English activities such as Newspaper Club or Debate Club
•Teach English camps during summer and winter vacations
REQUIREMENTS
Contract term: 22 August 2019 to 21 August 2020 (This is a yearly renewable contract)
Qualifications and experience:
•Bachelor’s degree (major in education or English would be preferred)
•Teacher’s license or a relevant teaching certificate – TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, etc.
•The ability to obtain a clear criminal background check
•Two years or more public or private school teaching experience
•Applicants must be citizens from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa to meet China’s work visa requirements.
