Teaching at Elite Chinese High Schools
The Ameson Institute of Foreign Languages seeks experienced teachers to teach within our programs that are embedded in some of the highest-ranking public high schools in eastern China.
The students were serve are among the best and the brightest. All of them have forgone preparation for the GAOKAO exam (required for admission into Chinese universities) meaning that they are all 100% committed to pursuing their undergraduate degrees overseas. Some of our past students have gone to study at Cambridge, UCLA, Harvard, etc (in other worlds, top schools globally).
For the 2010-2011 semester, we seek both subject teachers (using a College Board-approved curriculum) and also foundation teachers (language and skills preparation in IELTS, TOEFL, SATs, etc).
We need teachers for the following subjects:
1. Physics
2. Chemistry
3. Economics
4. Literature
5. IELTS
6. History & Literature (plus foundation skills)
7. Mathematics
BENEFITS
The job is well-paid by Chinese standards and our benefits package and support structure is among the best in China. Here is an overview of the benefits:
* Fully furnished modern apartment provided on campus at no cost (including a high speed Internet connection). Alternatively, teachers have the option of living off campus and receiving a monthly housing allowance on top of their teaching salary.
* All teachers get their own desk space and Internet-connected computer at the school to help with their class preparation.
* International travel allowance of up to USD $800, reimbursed upon completion of a 1-year teaching contract.

Typically we ask for teachers with US teaching certificates or at least 2 years of subject teaching using a US curriculum.
