Teaching in Qingpu & Kunshan

Kunshan is a fast developing city and does have a reasonably sized expat population that includes teachers and other foreign experts. There are a number of pubs and restaurants in the area. The school is about a 30 minute drive from Zhouzhuang and Jinxi, two beautiful water towns in Kunshan. There are also several large parks, TingTing being the biggest and nicest. The cost of living is quite reasonable. A one bedroom apartment is 2000-2500rmb a month. A pint of beer costs 30-35rmb. Buses are the primary public transport and cost 1-4rmb for a trip. Downtown Kunshan has many shops that one find Shanghai and Suzhou.

The school is brand new and has eight classrooms and a very large teachers’ office. Each classroom has a computer and projector. As the school is brand new the teacher will be asked to help organize events and help decorate the school and classrooms.

Qingpu is a bridge between old and new China. It has all the modern conveniences of bigger cities while still maintaining its connection to its strong cultural history.

Located on the Huangpu River, Qingpu offers exceptional views for those who love nature. Visit the ancient water town of Zhujiajiao and take a rare look into China’s past. People come from all over the world to visit China’s hidden gem. Go explore Dianshan Lake. Fondly known as “sweet water lake” by the Chinese, it is a great place to spend time.

For those who love to travel, Qingpu is ideal. It is located within easy travelling distance from Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou and Nanjing. You can plan a great day out in any of these fantastic cities and still be home for dinner. And with the fast train services you could be exploring Beijing in less than 6 hours.

The people of Qingpu are incredibly friendly and very keen to help anyone in need. They are indeed kind and are quick to make friends. You’ll feel welcome wherever you go. Go to the local square and watch people dancing into the night. Rent a pair of rollerblades and join the rest of the crowd. Go for a jog in the local sports field or join in a basketball or football game. Everyone is welcome.

Teach English to students between the ages of 3 and 16. Class sizes are small and range between 6 and 12 students. The schools maintain the highest standards in education by providing excellent course materials, technology and an engaging learning environment. Teach on average 20 to 25 hours a week.

Qualifications:

We would like to hear from candidates who are;

- Native English Speakers from Canada, the UK, America, New Zealand or Australia

- Have a recognized EFL qualification (TEFL/TESOL /CELTA/DELTA)

- Have a university degree

- Teaching experience preferred but not essential

-Are outgoing, enthusiastic, positive, sociable, hard-working, patient and professional

-Are looking for a challenge and enjoy working with young learners

Compensation

• Excellent base salary: 10,000 RMB - 12,000 RMB, per month (depending on experience)

• Housing Allowance: Free Shared Accommodation or RMB1,000

• Paid holidays: 22 days

• Bonus Payments: 7,000 and up (depending on location)

• Health insurance reimbursement: 1,300 RMB

• Additional bonuses: details given during interview

• Hotel accommodation provided free on arrival

• Valid Work Visa

• Training course provided on arrival and on-going development

• Second year salary increase
