Shenyang Institute of Engineering (SIE) invites foreign and domestic academic experts to join the SIE faculty.

Shenyang Institute of Engineering is located in the capital city of Liaoning Province, Shenyang. The beautiful campus is conveniently located close to public transportation which allows access to all parts of Shenyang. The campus itself covers 856,900 square meters, with 1,000 faculty members and more than 16,000 students. SIE is the only provincial institute that offers a Bachelor Degree in the power and energy industry in Liaoning Province.

SIE has established relationships with Red River College (RRC) in Canada， Murdoch University in Australia, Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Spain, and Vancouver Island University in Canada. SIE and RRC have maintained a close partnership since 1998. SIE and RRC co-established Red River International College in 2009, which is the only Sino-foreign cooperative education institute within the engineering industry in Liaoning Province. Now the college has approximately 1,200 students on campus and 10 cooperative programs.

Positions Available：
Position 1: Associate Dean for teaching affairs
Position description: Full-time
Number of Vacancies: 1

Academic Qualifications:
1. Capable of teaching academic courses in English;
2. Doctor degree obtained from university outside of China;
3. Applicants obtained master degree from university outside of China are expected to have the following experience as the executive dean of a college or university or, as the principal of a secondary college with experience developing and managing international education programs or, with experience in developing and practicing high level teaching projects or, with an engineering background in thermo-dynamic power generation or electronic power field or, experience with high level academic research, published high level academic paper as the first author or academic works out of China in the engineering field.

Professional and Personal Qualifications:
1. Abides by the Constitution and Laws of People’s Republic of China, the academic standards and the rules and regulations of SIE; has passion for educational career and students; maintains the college reputation;
2. Has a minimum of 3 years management experience at college or university level outside of China;
3. Has a clear understanding about the process of talent cultivation; is familiar with the principles of college and university education; is qualified to develop international education programs and to manage teaching and training instructors;
4. Is under the age of 60 and in good mental and physical health;

3.1: English Language Instructor

Qualifications:

2. Is a native citizen of the United States, Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand with a bachelor degree or higher and ESL/TESOL/TEFL certificates, or a Chinese citizen with a doctoral degree with experience of studying in English-speaking countries;
3. Has a minimum of 2 years English teaching experience;
4. Is under the age of 60 and in good mental and physical health;
5. Preferred applicants will have experience in language training center management or, developing courses for language training centers or, high level academic research or, developing and managing international teaching programs.

Basic Qualifications:

Professional qualifications:

Electrical Engineering
Instructors 1. A minimum of 3 years working background in the electrical engineering field and job qualification certificates, familiarity with the site primary and secondary equipment and equipment operation and maintenance;
2. Proficiency in Microsoft office software;
3. Preferred applicants should be capable of doing scientific research and practice.

Power Engineering Instructors 1. A minimum of 3 years working background in the power engineering field and the third class or higher power engineer qualification certificates, familiarity with ASME or CSA power engineering professional standards;
2. Proficiency in Microsoft office software;
3. Preferred applicants will have some scientific research and practical skills.

Hospitality and Tourism Management Instructors 1. A minimum of 3 years working background in tourism and hospitality management; familiarity with the working process of tourism agency and hotel; being capable of instructing students practice efficiently;
2. Having close relationship with the tourism industry and understanding the trends of the industry;
3. Preferred applicants will have some scientific research and practical skills.

Employment Period: One year with option of renewal

Remuneration Package:
1. Salary and insurance will be determined based on the related recruitment regulations and the applicant’s qualifications and working experience;
