THE SETTING:

Located at the southeast coast of China, Xiamen is a tourist city of Fujian Province famous for its attractive seascape. It is a typical littoral city with abundant tourist attractions such as islands, mountains, temples and parks, etc., providing you with a full sightseeing schedule.

Xiamen Yingcai School is located on the mainland, in the Jimei District of Xiamen. It is a large and well established K-12 private boarding school. Yingcai is home to over 3000 students and 600 staff and boasts a beautiful and modern campus covering an area of 41 acres.

The International Education Center at Yingcai was initiated in 2007 to help prepare students for university overseas. Our mission is to cultivate interdisciplinary talents, to make students fully aware of the differences between Chinese and Western Cultures, to form a noble moral character, and to prepare them to meet the demands of world-class prestigious universities which are suitable for their own development.

THE POSITION:

The maximum workload is 20 teaching hours (40 minute periods) per week. This position would include some combination of Junior 1-2 classes (ages 12-14) and Senior 1-3. Senior 1-3 classes will focus mainly on teaching fundamental English, preparing students for IELTS/TOEFL exams as well as ACT/SAT in the case of Senior 3. Office hours are required as well.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor’s degree

- TEFL/TESOL certificate

- 2 years full-time work experience

PREFERRED:

- 2 years teaching experience

- native speaker

- experience preparing students for IELTS, TOEFL, ACT, or SAT

- experience teaching math, science, business, or computers

FOREIGN TEACHER SALARY AND CONDITIONS:

1. Monthly Salary: 10,000 - 15,000 RMB per month depending on qualifications and subjects taught. 2. Airfare: 7500 RMB round-trip airfare reimbursement for completing one year’s contract and re-signing for the following year or 3500 without re-signing 3. Travel Allowance: 2,000 RMB traveling allowance will be provided for completing one academic year’s contract. 4. Meal Allowance: Free meals included. 5. Insurance: Provided in accordance with government requirements. 6. Vacation: paid winter vacation and national holidays. 7. Z-visa and Foreign Expert's Certificate: all sponsorship and paperwork provided by school. 8. Accommodation: Shared teacher dormitory-style housing provided free of charge.
