Details of Position

Greatway Education is an established company with a fantastic reputation in Southeast China. We offer language training to local children and are currently expanding our schools and Educational programs. We operate four language schools within the downtown area of Huizhou, a full-time kindergarten, and one school in Hui Yang(about 30 minutes from the downtown area). We have a great deal of experience in introducing teachers to life in China and offer a terrific start in TEFL for those just beginning their career.
For more experienced teachers there is plenty of scope to take on training and mentoring roles within the schools.
In the language schools the majority of children are of primary school age (6-13 in China), although we also teach a significant number of teenagers, adults and kindergarten students. Class sizes are kept very small (6-12) with students grouped according to age and level of English. All teachers have their own classroom and the majority of lessons are taught onsite. Classes are generally taught in the evenings and at weekends with the occasional afternoon class. The average teaching timetable is around 18-20 hours a week (maximum of 22 hours teaching).
The kindergarten job is slightly different. The kids are in the school all day with one lesson of English four times a week from a western teacher. A typical day starts with 3 classes of 30-40 minutes in the morning followed by 2-3 more in the afternoon. A working week is 20-24 periods averaging around 16-17 hours over 5 days.
In all the schools the emphasis is on motivating students and making the learning of English an enjoyable experience. We use British syllabuses full of fun, lively ideas to bring English to life. We adopt a task-based approach that concentrates on communication and cooperative learning styles.
You will be provided with full training on arrival, and continued support and feedback during your time with us. There is a fantastic relationship between the Western and Chinese members of staff and a buzzing work atmosphere.
Huizhou itself is a really lovely city built around lakes. The surrounding countryside is easily accessible with nearby beaches that are really very beautiful. There are numerous mountains and hot springs to be visited and plenty to do in the city itself. Huizhou is large enough to contain modern commodities and have a good nightlife but small enough to retain a strong community feel. Please see our website for more detailed information.
We have 4 positions in the language department and 2 positions in the kindergarten. Both departments would be for a start date of February, March and April 2016. Contracts are for one year (renewable).

TEFL Certificate 120 hour course

Salary 7000-10000 RMB per month depending on experience
