Summary

Lake Washington Institute of Technology is seeking an experienced Part-time Instructor to provide English language instruction to Chinese high school students at a partner school in Weifang, Shandong Province, China. Changle No.2 is a private high school with on campus accommodations for students. The site provides a 2-bedroom apartment and weekday cafeteria meals in a separate dining room. Airfare to and from Weifang, visa processing expenses, and associated fees will be provided.

The instructor will deliver LWTech's Intensive English Program curriculum at the site from January 5, 2015 to June 17, 2015. As an employee of LWTech, the instructor is paid in US dollars in keeping with current faculty agreement provisions.

This is an opportunity to commit your energy to supporting a cohort of students to prepare for their anticipated subsequent study in the US. Beginning with a pre-departure orientation and throughout the instruction period, the instructor is collegially supported through regular virtual contact with the Faculty Coordinator of the LWTech Intensive English Program. An on-site contact provides guidance about local logistical considerations.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in TESOL or a related field

1 year related work experience; 2 years preferred

1 year teaching experience; 2 years preferred

Experience teaching English abroad and/or teaching international students

Industry certifications preferred

Experience in developing course curriculum

Excellent presentation skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills

High degree of computer literacy

Must have sensitivity and ability to successfully interact with diverse populations
