We are looking for professional teachers to teach the GAC (Global Assessment Certificate) and US High School curriculums to students from grade 10 to 12 at Zibo Experimental High School's International Department beginning from January 2015.

Brief Introduction of Our School's Curriculum

We have two programs at our school. Our Dual Degree program allows students to obtain both a Chinese and US (Maine) high school degree. Our GAC program is designed to prepare international students for undergraduate studies at Western universities. Of course, both programs aim to develop proficiency in the English language. However, we are more than just a language school. Our students use English as a tool to study other subjectsas well as develop the study skills and habits that will be expected in the undergraduate classroom. We include AP courses as part of our programs during the senior year. We also prepare students for applying abroad with university application workshops, TOEFL, IETLS, ACT and SAT test training.

Positions are one-year contracts with the option of renewal at the end.

Science Teacher

Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree

o in a Natural Science or related field

o Degree from an English-speaking country

o Education credentials strengthen an application

o Graduate degrees strengthen an application

· 2 years teaching experience

o Science teaching experience is excellent

o English teaching experience is great

· Ability to teach high school-level general science (including biology, chemistry, physics, ecology and the scientific method) and university freshman-level physics, chemistry or biology

· Willingness to teach at a professional level, this is not casual teaching of oral English, you will be teaching a much more challenging level of curriculum that will require excellent lesson planning, teaching & grading - many teachers really appreciate the opportunity to teach a more serious level of material, but it is more demanding

· Familiarity with the challenges Chinese students will face at university

· Ability to teach additional subjects (listed below) is a strong asset

Math Teacher

Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree

o in mathematics/computer science/engineering or related field

o Degree from an English-speaking country

o Education credentials strengthen an application

o Graduate degrees strengthen an application

· 2 years teaching experience

o Math teaching experience is excellent

o English teaching experience is great

· Ability to teach algebra,geometry,trigonometry&calculus.ability to teach statistics also helpful

· Willingness to teach at a professional level, this is not casual teaching of oral English, It is a much more challenging level of curriculum that will require excellent lesson planning, teaching & grading - many teachers really appreciate the opportunity to teach a more serious level of material, but it is more demanding

· Familiarity with the challenges Chinese students will face at university

· Ability to teach additional subjects (listed above and below) is a strong asset

Health and/or Physical Education Teacher:

Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree

o in a relevant field or professional experience with health or physical education

o Degree from an English-speaking country

o Education credentials strengthen an application

o Graduate degrees strengthen an application

· 2 years teaching experience

· Ability to teach health (including sex education) and/or physical education at the high school level

· Willingness to teach at a professional level, this is not casual teaching of oral English, you will be teaching a much more challenging level of curriculum that will require excellent lesson planning, teaching & grading - many teachers really appreciate the opportunity to teach a more serious level of material, but it is more demanding. Health issues can be very personal and require a strong sense of cultural sensitivity from the teacher. Being in charge of physical education classes requires and active and inspiring personality.

· Familiarity with the challenges Chinese students will face at university

(Applicants with specialization in just health or just physical education are also encouraged to apply.)

About the school

Zibo Experimental High School is the best high school in the city and one of the best schools in Shandong. The school, like other experimental high schools through China, enjoys a good reputation for its study atmosphere, experienced teachers and quality teaching.

The school covers an area of more than 14.2 hectares with the total building area over 77,000 square meters.
