ELC is looking for seasoned TEFL pros to teach our part-time TEFL teacher training courses in central downtown Shanghai. Each course section meets for 2.5 hours once per week for ten weeks, and there is the possibility to teach one or more sections. The course is a compact and intensive 25-hour course for English-speaking adults who want to learn how to teach EFL here in China and abroad. The students are expats already living in Shanghai who come from the U.S., Britain, Australia, Europe, and Asia. At the end of the course, the students are awarded an ELC 25-hour TEFL certificate. This is a rare opening, as all of our TEFL teacher trainers have been with us for more than seven years. We offer a salary of 500 RMB per teaching hour, and the instructor is responsible for the course design and content (based on the ELC course objectives as outlined in the description). My most-urgent need is to staff our Tuesday-morning section, which meets from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM starting in October, but there is the possibility for additional sections for the right person. This position is best suited for high-caliber TEFL experts with at-least a master's degree in TEFL or closely related field plus at-least ten years experience in a variety of TEFL environments (additional academic credentials and management experience are preferred). Must be able to design your own lesson plans and content including handouts and any other materials that you want to use in class.

The course is an intensive introduction/general overview to the field of TEFL, covering all types and levels of teaching EFL (i.e. academic, business, everyday English, etc., to children, teens, adults, etc.), as well as all of the different aspects within each learning environment, such as speaking, reading, writing, grammar, etc.). The course is very compact but comprehensive, sort of like a full-scale graduate-degree TEFL program condensed into 25 hours if you can imagine that.
