TEFL Job in Zhangjiagang - Competitive Pay!

Hi there!

My name is Arsheen, I’m the Head of Recruitment and Foreign Teacher for MERCI International located in Zhangjiagang city (2 hours from Shanghai central, 2 hours from Nanjing, 45 minutes from Suzhou and 45 minutes from Wuxi) in the Jiangsu Province of China. Below you’ll find some additional information about our available positions.

 Job Position Information:

Start Date: ASAP Number of positions: 2

Nationalities accepted (Due to visa constraints): USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand

Salary: 15,000RMB per month - plus accommodation valued at 2,500 RMB = total up to 17,500 monthly.

Contract length: 1 year

Teaching hours: 17-21 Hours per week

Office hours: additional 5-10 hours per week (total of no more than 35 working hours per week)

Working days: 5 days per week (days off vary between Monday and Friday and are always consecutive, no weekends off)

Student Age: 3-12 years old

Class Length: 90 minutes per class (average of 2 classes per day during the week / 3 – 4 classes on weekends)

Current number of Foreign Teachers: 11

Contract bonus: 6,000 RMB after completion of contract

Accommodation: Provided and private, and can be chosen by the foreign teacher, shared accommodation for new teachers (couples or friends) is also an option.

Vacation time: 7 paid vacation days chosen by the teacher with one months notice (flexible) plus Chinese National Holidays (up to 30 days)

Visa: Z Visa provided.

Paperwork Required for work visa: minimum 120+ hour TEFL/TESOL certificate and a Bachelor’s degree.

If you currently don’t possess a TEFL certificate, the school can advise you on the best way to go about obtaining this.

Extras: Assistance both before and after arrival with either Chinese or foreign assistance, apartment assistance, help setting up a phone plan, in apartment wifi, and bank accounts.
