University in Hunan has 6 immediate vacancies for English Teachers
Teachers will be either placed in Jishu or Zhangjiejie
Teaches must be at least BA holders
Native speakers between 25 to 55 with a minimum of 2 years teaching experience
Teacher will be responsible for teaching: IT, Engineering and Ballet Majors
Hours up to 26 per week
Salary ranges from 6000 to 8000 RMB, overtime will be paid when applicable
Travel allowance: 2200 RMB for one year contract, 1100 RMB for six months
Health Insurance, including accident
Full airfare allowance for one year contract, one way for six month vi
Housing provided: private apartment, fully furnished, inc washing machine, Internet, all utilities paid
Vacation time corresponds to all Chinese national holidays, along with semester breaks
Z visa
On a personal level, I have worked at this university. I found the students polite, curious and they have great respect for their teacher. China is not for the faint hearted, and those who are lucky enough to work there realize that it is not a mirror image of the West, and should not expect things to happen as they do in the West. Teachers who adapt well are best suited to this environment. The culture is different, and this lends to a whole new experience.
Hunan has excellent train links, and China can be explored from here. Zhiangjiejie is well known for its national parks, and Tianamen Mountain musts for every explorer in life!
