University Teacher Wanted in Suzhou

Applied Technology College of SOOCHOW UNIVERSITY (Zhouzhuang, Kunshan) is seeking for a university lecturer to teach for the fall semester commencing from Sept 1,2014

Requirements :

l Native English speakers with Bachelor's degree of Arts or above, with American background is preferred;

l Capable to teach World Literature, United States History 1877 to the present, Studies in Arts;

l Lively, friendly, patient and enthusiastic for teaching with high sense of responsibility;

l Salary: 10000 RMB net salary /month for 20classes/week

l Housing Allowance: 2500 RMB/month.

l Aircraft Allowance: 8000 RMB/ year .

l Insurance: Accident Insurance and Critical Illness Insurance

Courses to be taught:

l World Literature

"World literature" course is mainly about

the development of Europe and the United States and Oriental literature, literary genre and its characteristics, creation tendency of important writers and their works, artistic achievement. The teaching purpose of this course is to promote students' all-round, healthy development; guide students to understand literature from a multiple of perspectives; acknowledge them of a system understanding of the humanism tradition in western literature.

l United States History, 1877 to the present

This course aims at making students learn about United States History.

It mainly introduces the history of United States from 1877 to the present, including cultural history, political history and so on.

Lesson plans cover a range of topics in US history and utilize interesting and engaging sources, activities and discussion questions.

l Studies in Art

An introduction to elementary knowledge of art appreciation with examples. The fields of art covered include architecture, painting, sculpture, calligraphy, music, dance, drama, Chinese opera, photography and movie. This course is intended to foster students' ability to appreciate art with a grasp of basic knowledge in art.
