We are currently recruiting for a full time English teacher to teach English Literature, Drama and ESL in one of the top public high schools in Beijing, China, beginning September 1st, 2013. Location:Beijing, China

Dates:September 2013-August 2014

Salary:USD25,000-USD50,000 (dependent on experience, academic background, etc.)

About the Position:

You will be working at a top public high school in Beijing, with over 110 years of history, teaching in the school’s international program. This position can be either part time or full time (no more than 28, 40 minute classes per week; if full time, you will teach multiple courses to sophomores and juniors, based on your background and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Teachers will be required to plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning utilizing a variety of materials and resources. You will create a positive classroom atmosphere and manage student behavior in the classroom through effective rules and procedures. You will also identify and utilize various resources and methods to meet student needs while monitoring and encouraging student progress.

You will have a Chinese co-teacher, with whom you will collaborate. You will communicate with and obtain feedback from students, colleagues and parents to enhance student learning and understanding. You may also be required to adapt existing educational resources to the needs and learning styles of Chinese high school students. Furthermore, if needed, you will be available to parents, students, administrators, and colleagues outside of course hours. You will be responsible for preparing midterm and final exams.

Basic Qualifications:

-Solid academic background and teaching experience in relevant subject

-Good communication, interpersonal and coordination skills

-Ability to teach well-planned, interesting, informative and interactive classes

-Enthusiasm for teaching and ability to adapt to a new environment

Preferred Qualifications:

-Master’s degree in relevant subject

-Master’s degree in Education

-Experience teaching advanced classes

-Experience in ESL and cross-cultural instruction
