Want to Become an Ielts Examiner? the British Council Is Recruiting!
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an internationally prestigious test and the British Council Chongqing operates large IELTS testing operation. We operate tests over three weekends every month in four locations across Southwest China.
IELTS examiners are qualified, experienced English language specialists who undertake IELTS testing on a freelance basis. Certified examiners will assess the speaking and writing modules of the IELTS test.
To keep up with the fast developing business, we are looking for suitably qualified and experienced individuals based in Chongqing, Chengdu, Kunming and Guiyang to join our team of IELTS examiners.
Financial reward
Our freelance examiners in China can expect a generous remuneration for their efforts. As an example currently an examiner working in their home city could expect to earn between RMB 4000 and RMB 5000 for a weekend of assessing speaking and writing modules. Please note that these payments depend on the number of candidates and can’t be guaranteed.
Minimum professional requirements
You will need to meet the following requirements to become an IELTS examiner:
An undergraduate degree or a qualification which can be demonstrated to be equivalent to an undergraduate degree.
A recognized qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL, CELTA, etc).
A minimum of three years full time relevant TESOL teaching experience to adults.
The required professional attributes and interpersonal skills
If you are interested in applying, please contact Nathan Hu at nathan.hu@britishcouncil.org.cn for further information.
