Dont waste your time with recruiters and agents that will feed you lies in order to get you out here. I will tell you the absoloute truth and every negative about working in this school and China before even starting on the positives.

My name is Anthony, manager of foreign affairs at Best Learning in Taiyuan.

I am not an agent. I recruit only for Best Learning in Taiyuan, the school which I work and teach at.

We are looking for teachers to start in September. If you want to come earlier, let me know,I could introduce you to another position which will begin ASAP.(A good friend of mine is looking for a teacher).However for this post I will only inform you of the position at our school!

Salary: 8000rmb per month.
Hours: Wednesday Thursday Friday - 4:00 - 8:30
Saturday and Sunday - 8:30 - 12:30 then 2:00 - 6:30
A 6000 contract completion bonus (We actually do pay the full bonus)

A furnished appartment is provided. Rent is paid by the school. You will pay utilities. Electric, heating, water etc. Its cheap.

A maximum of 12 student in a class.

Aiport/train station pick up by myself!

These are fantastic hours. It gives you so much free time to travel during your days off. You finish work at 6:30 on a Sunday. Have Sunday night, all day Monday and Tuesday and then only have to be in for 4:00 in the afternoon on a Wednesday!

Our contract states you will have a maximum on 25 teaching hours per week. In reality, it never reaches that. You'd be unlucky to reach 20 hours per week.

Our school classrooms are equipt with electronic smartboards with software that relates to the teaching content and books provided. This is a huge advantage of this school and a great aid during class. It does half of the work for you!

Teachers should prepare for classes. We have teaching guides and books, it's very simple.

Training is provided by myself. I know exactly what is needed in order to be a successful teacher here. If you are willing to listen and learn, you will be a success in China.

The city!

The city itself is great. Its a very cheap city and most foreigners who leave Taiyuan end up coming back quite quickly. You can save a huge portion of your salary here. There's also plenty part time work available if you want some extra cash. Its a bit of a goldmine really!

From an 8000rmb salary, you should be looking to save 5000rmb at the absoloute minumum. Thats without trying to save.

Taiyuan is the capital of Shanxi province. It is not a Beijing or Shanghai. Its not full of foreigners. But there is a nice friendly foreign community here too. There are plenty benefits for foreigners here such as free drinks, discounts on meals and more.

I dont care much about what degree you have or what experience you have. Pesonality is the key. Active, fun, friendly.
