We Are Seeking More ESL Teachers to Join the Project in Beijing

Due to continuing demand from our government partners, we are seeking more ESL teachers to join the project in Beijing

The Chaoyang English Project is a collaboration between Beijing BISS International School and the Chaoyang District Education Committee. It aims to improve students’ communication ability in English and develop local teachers’ English language skills, teaching methodology & pedagogy. The project has a high profile as one of two main projects for the District Education Committee.

Due to continuing demand from our government partners, we are seeking more ESL teachers to join the project. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced EFL teachers to contribute directly to the development of education in Chaoyang District, Beijing. Ongoing professional development, through regular training sessions and a cycle of observation and feedback, will be provided to the teachers, as well as a competitive salary package.

Teaching Duties may include:
• Co-plan & prepare resources based on the local English textbooks
• Team teach English lessons with local partner
• Keep up to date planning & reflection notes
• Assist with special performances or festivals
• Accommodate visitors and observers from schools and other educational organisations in classes
• Participate in related research; provide feedback; conduct tests & surveys

Trainer Duties may include:
• Supervision cycle: planning support, observation and feedback for teachers
• Regular training sessions for groups of foreign and local teachers working in primary and middle schools
• Occasional demonstration lessons and/or teaching duties
• Reporting and reflection: weekly updates and summary reporting
• Development and review of training and assessment materials
• Assessment and reporting of student progress

Salary & Conditions:
• Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications & experience
• Housing & airfare allowances
• Medical insurance & work visa provided
• Work hours approximately 8am-4pm (Mon-Fri), timetable approximately 12 x 40minute periods per week (plus co-planning with teaching partner)

Teacher Qualifications & Requirements:
• Native or bilingual proficiency in English
• Foreign passport holder, with extensive experience living in an English-speaking community
• University Degree (Bachelor or above), from an English-speaking country
• 2+ years’ post-degree school teaching or ESL/EFL/TEFL/TESOL/CELTA teaching experience
• ESL/EFL/TEFL/TESOL/CELTA/DELTA or recognized (general) teaching certification of 120+ hours
• English teaching/training experience in China/Asia (preferred)
• A passion for contributing and making a difference through education
• Attributes such as patience, teamwork & collaboration, strong communication & presentation skills and a positive attitude.

Trainer Qualifications & Requirements:
• Native or bilingual proficiency in English
• Foreign passport holder, with extensive experience living in an English-speaking community
• University Degree (Bachelor or above) from an English-speaking country
• Cambridge DELTA or equivalent ELT qualification
• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ post-degree teaching experience (English teaching/training experience in China/Asia preferred)
• Some experience or background in primary or middle schools is desirable
• A passion for contributing and making a difference through education
• Attributes such as patience, teamwork & collaboration, strong communication & presentation skills and a positive attitude.
