Phoenix City International School
Employment Contract




Party A: Guangzhou Phoenix International School

Party B: _______________





The above two Parties have reached the following agreements:



I. The period of employment

Party B will work in Phoenix City International School as a full-time oral English teacher for one school year from _________________________.

II. Party A will provide Party B the following conditions in order to make sure Party B can work and live in the school smoothly



1. Relevant certificates

Party A will be responsible for getting Party B's residence permit, work permit, and physical examination record as well as a multi-entry visa to make sure he or she works in China legally. Party A will pay all the fees of getting working visa and medical examination in China except the fees for the photo needed.



2.Salary

Party A will pay Party B a monthly salary of _7,000-8,000_ Yuan (RMB) after tax on the 12th of next month (if the 12th is in the holiday, the pay day will be put off after the holiday; the salary of the first month will be paid on daily (180 yuan a day) if the workdays are less than 30 days; the salary of the last month will be paid no later than the last week of Party B's stay at school. Party B has to pay the deposit of 500RMB when Party B moves into the school apartment. The deposit can be taken back by Party B after Party A makes an inventory for Party B's apartment and confirms Party B's payment for his extra electric fee, water fee and gas fee before Party B leaves the school when the contract ends.



3.Medical care

Party B will enjoy the same medical care as the Chinese teachers of the school in the school clinic at no charge. Party A will offer no medical care outside of school. Party B is permitted up to five days of paid sick leave per year. In order to be eligible for paid sick leave, Party B must inform his department for not being able to work due to illness with an accompanying proof of illness for more than one day from the school clinic or a physician as soon as possible after illness.



4.Accommodations

Party A will provide Party B the use of (at no charge) a furnished apartment with two bedrooms, one bathroom, a TV with cable, a DVD player, a refrigerator, a microwave, an air-conditioner, a washing machine, a water heater, a table, a chair and 200 watts of electricity and 10 tons of water per month. Party B will pay for any additional electricity and water. Party A will also provide Party B 6 cubic metres gas per month at no charge. Party B has to pay the extra gas. If Party B doesn't live in the school apartment, Party A will pay Party B RMB 300 yuan reimbursement per month. If Party B lives in the apartment during the summer holiday, Party A will also provide the same quantity gas, water and electricity. Part B has to pay the extra.



5.Holidays

During the time Party B works for Party A, the former will enjoy all Chinese public holidays, plus three days off for Christmas (December 24th, 25th ,26th ). If any special cases happen to Party A, such as important school open day, May holidays and National holidays, Party B agrees to work in the weekend according to the temporary class schedule made by his department. The winter vacation is the same as the Chinese teachers, but Party B takes sole responsibilities upon himself for any incident or accidents while away from the school on holidays.



6.Plane tickets

With a valid plane ticket, Party A pays for Party B's international round-trip ticket once a year. The first half will be paid after Party B has worked at the school for 3 months, with the balance to be paid in the last 10 days before the contract ends.



7.Meals

Except for July and August, _______, Party B can enjoy three meals per day in the school cafeteria at no charge.



8.Transportation

Party B will also be allowed to take the Phoenix City buses at no charge to go to Guangzhou.



III. Requirements for Party B
1. Party B must observe all the Chinese laws as well as the disciplines of Phoenix City International School.

2. Party B must respect Chinese moral standards as well as religious policies.

3. Party B agrees to work ____ hours Monday to Friday per week according to Party A's arrangement. Party B's work includes: teaching regular classes, doing extracurricular activities such as training Chinese teachers English as well as recording and writing webpage, helping to strengthen the English environment, and doing other work arranged by his department.

4. Party B must finish all his work to make sure that all students are qualified for the school goals of the year and to help to keep a good reputation for the school.

5. While working at the school, Party B doesn't work with other schools or companies.

6. Party B must work on time. Party B must inform his department for asking for sick or casual leave at least half a day in advance. Party B agrees that the subsidy will be taken away from his salary to give the teacher who takes over his class for the period(s) missed. Party B agrees to be deducted 300 Yuan for missing a scheduled class, 100 Yuan for each half a day casual leave and 50 Yuan for being late for class. If Party B's sick leave is above five days, 100 Yuan will also be deducted from his salary for each day.

IV. Probation

1. The first 1 month following Party B's appointment shall be a probationary period, during which Party B's suitability for the position to which Party B has been appointed shall be assessed.

2. After the probation period, if Party B does not meet the basic acceptable standards, Party A will dismiss Party B. If Party B meets the basic acceptable standards, the employment is confirmed and Party B shall be subject to ongoing assessment in terms of the staff appraisal scheme approved by Party A.

3. Party B's monthly salary is _________ RMB during the probationary period.



V. Dismissal

Party A has the right to immediately dismiss Party B by providing such reasonable and adequate grounds as failing to teach or violating Chinese laws including school regulations. Before dismissal Party A should give Party B verbal warning(s). If no improvement from Party B after three (3) verbal warnings, the department (section) concerned should present a written warning (s) to Party B and ask for the signature from Party B when the letter is delivered. If Party B fails again, Party A will dismiss Party B and refuse to pay Party B's expense of #6 of the second item.



VI. Resignation

During the time Party B works for Party A, if the former has appropriate reason to resign, he must hand in a written report to Party A. This must be submitted 30 days prior to leaving the position. If Party B gets the approval of Party A, Party A will pay Party B some of the expense of the #6at a prorated percentage.



VII. Termination of the contract

Either Party may terminate the contract during the contract term, but should provide the other Party 30 days prior written notice.



VIII. This contract has three copies, one for each Party concerned and the other to keep on file.



Ⅸ. This contract is effective on the day of execution by both Parties.
