Thabo School, Nong Khai

Full Time English/Science/Math Teachers
Thabo School, Nong Khai, Thailand.
English & Mathematics Teachers Required.
Work in Thailand, real Thailand. North-Eastern Thailand.

Thailand is an unforgettable experience in one of the world’s most interesting countries.

After completing our short induction, you'll be fully equipped to begin your teaching career and can look forward to some life-changing experiences, inside and outside of the classroom. Your job will be employed directly by the school (no agencies) including salary and contract, and the school will provide assistance with accommodation, motorcycles, and visas.

We welcome those with all range of past teaching experience or educational history; if you have prior teaching experience you are highly qualified for this opportunity and Thai schools are eager to have you as a part of their team. This is also a great way to gain initial teaching experience upon graduation from university, as a career break or change, or now that you’re retired and have some free time.

If you fancy gaining valuable cultural experience as a teacher this is the perfect opportunity for you. You'll be surrounded by likeminded people all wanting to have a fantastic time abroad whilst experiencing a new culture!

Arrival
After being collected from Nong Khai City, it's time to be induced and orientated into the School and the Town where you will live! We'll make the new, exotic culture easy for you to settle into and enjoy, whilst you make friends, and prepare for your adventure.
If you are in Thailand already, this will be a bonus.

Unfortunately we will not be able to cover for flights from/to your home country. If you are flying to Thailand you will have to apply for a Non-immigrant B Visa prior to flying.

Orientation
We'll cover topics such as
• Accommodation and motorcycle details.
• The local culture.
• Customs and language.
• Lesson Plans and Schedules.
• The Thai education system.

...and how to make the best of your experience in Thailand, and most importantly details on what to expect from your teaching role. You'll all complete this together, giving you a perfect opportunity to make friends and contacts before your placement begins, and enjoy all that Thailand has to offer right from the start.

Accommodation
Accommodation includes Wifi, Washing Machine, Individual Rooms, Air Conditioning all the things you would expect from western living. Just it is a little warmer. We aim to have you start in your new teaching position in the first Monday after you arrive, which is hopefully on a Wednesday/Thursday, so you have ample time to adapt.

Free Time
There is something for everyone in Thailand. From trekking, white water rafting, exploring waterfalls, national parks and rural villages in Chiang Mai and Pai, in Northern Thailand, to sunbathing, socialising, diving and partying in the Southern islands, to visiting temples, enjoying thrilling nightlife and entertainment and bustling markets and malls in Bangkok, you’re sure to have a fantastic time! All of the Southern Islands offer something different – Ko Tao for scuba diving, KoPhangan for the full moon party, KoSamui for a package holiday, and the famously stunning Ko Phi Phi for a good time! There are also great options for those interested in wildlife, with sanctuaries, tropical rainforests, dry evergreen and hill evergreen making it perfect to see elephants, tigers, leopards and panthers!
The North-East is unique. The least affected by tourism, yet there is still lots to offer. We have the rocket festival, a celebration of the rains, the Naga fireball, unique to Nong Khai, as well as many festivals and cultural celebrations.

Holiday
Perks of being a teacher? You'll get all school holidays off, which could be as much as 30 days at a time, giving you plenty of time to make the most of living in one of the most stunning, tropical countries. As a teacher in Thailand, you should expect to get paid at least 30,000 Baht per month, with the potential to earn more by doing extra lessons or outside classes in your spare time. This is more than enough to live a good Thai lifestyle, as the average Thai wage is 15,000 Baht.

Cost of Living
Apartment rental in Thailand will cost you between 2,000 and 8,000 per month, ranging from basic options to those with more luxurious features. Luckily, we are on hand to assist you with suitable accommodation – outside of the school, about three-to-four minutes ride on a motorcycle.

Food
You can get many basic meals for 20 - 40 Baht, ranging up to 60 - 100 Baht for a meal in a nicer restaurant. Check out a local market for cheap, authentic Thai meals.

Of course the above figures do vary by location and general setting, but it should show you the potential you have to either save, or fund further travel! There are also foods that you would expect to see at home.
