The Job
We are currently recruiting dynamic English teachers to teach young learner students at our modern language schools in Cilegon, Indonesia. Candidates will use a variety of teaching methods along with their creativity and energy and a wide range of teaching materials and technology to engage students in a truly memorable and effective learning experience.
The School
Our school is part of a truly global company, established in 1965 and now with over 400 centers around the world. Our school teaches over 20,000 students in 65 schools throughout Indonesia and has established itself as the market leader for private language learning. Our school in Cilegon opened its doors in December 2003. At the moment has 400 students ranging from young learners to teenagers and adults.
Teaching Methods
Teachers are encouraged to use their creativity to really bring the lesson alive and make the most of a variety of activities such as role plays, group work, competitions, drama and stories. The class sizes are kept small, to an average of 10-15 students, which allows for noticeable progress to be made and also makes classroom management that much easier.
Course materials & technology
Popular with students and teachers alike, our course books have been developed by a dedicated team of linguistic and educational experts. Course books are accompanied by a wide range of supplementary materials including flashcards, posters, handouts, CD’s, videos, songs and in-class computer applications, all essential for teachers to deliver varied and engaging classes. All schools have interactive white boards, connected to the internet and loaded with multimedia resources which add an exciting new dimension to how you teach.
Indonesia – The Country
Indonesia is a wonderful blend of people, cultures and ethnicities with a population of over 245 million, the fourth largest in the world. Located in South East Asia, Indonesia is a collection of 16,000 islands spread along equator with Australia to the south and Singapore and Vietnam to the north. Enjoy a pleasant climate ranging from 16 – 35 degrees throughout the year with two distinct seasons. Indonesia boasts some of the most break-taking natural beauty on the planet with endless possibilities for adventure and exploration, from the pristine beaches of Bali to the jungle treks in Bukit Lawang and much more.
Cilegon - The City
Cilegon, also known as the “Steel City” is a major coastal industrial city in Banten province which is located at the western end of the island of Java. It has a population of over 338,000. It has a hot and humid tropical climate and you can expect a lot of rain between December to February.
Cilegon is the center of industry in the region of Banten. It produces steel for industrial needs locally and internationally. Banten province, where Cilegon is located at, is just about an hour away from Jakarta. On your way to the city, you can see beautiful panorama of mountains, paddy fields and small holiday resorts. This area of the island is primarily mountainous with rich green valleys and volcanoes. This region combines a lot of the important Industrial Zones in Indonesia as well as the extended recreation areas along the western coast of Java.
The main tourist area around Cilegon is Anyer beach. This small sleepy village became a major attraction because of its famous white sand beach and water sport recreations. Banten also has very interesting art culture, pilgrimage, and handicraft.

Main Responsibilities
-Maximum of 24 teaching hours per week
-Total of 40 hours per week work including teaching
-Teach a variety of English classes to a range of abilities
-Ensure students learn in an engaging manner
-Make good use of our extensive course materials and technology in the classroom
Compensation
-Excellent salary: 7,750,000 Rupiah per month net (roughly 670 USD)
-Round trip flight reimbursement provided (50% after 3 months, 50% after 12 months – max 1,200 USD)
-Assistance finding an apartment
-Contract completion bonus: 7,750,000 Rupiah (roughly 670 USD)
-14 days paid vacation per year plus 1 week for Labaran, 1 week for Christmas
-Legal work visa and permits provided and paid for by the school
-Full medical insurance provided by the school
-Indonesian classes
-On-going training and professional development

Requirements
-Native English speaker from USA, UK, Canada, Australia or New Zealand
-Bachelor’s degree in an English related subject (Education, TEFL, Linguistics, or Literature)

-Teaching experience preferred
-Can commit to a 12 month contract
