Summary:

Experience living in a coldest city in the world with the warmest people. British Educational Centre in Yakutsk invites CELTA (or equivalent) qualified native speakers of English with experience of teaching children, teenagers, adults and corporate clients to join their friendly team for the next academic year (starting in September 2013).

Yakutia is a unique place not only with rich fauna and flora but also with relaxed, very kind and friendly Natives.

Details:

Yakutsk is a capital of the national Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) – the biggest region of the Russian Federation which is located in the north-eastern part. Yakutia is known for its climate extremes, with the Verkhoyansk Range being the coldest area in the northern hemisphere. Almost all the continental territory of Yakutia is a zone of permafrost.

Yakutia is a unique place with rich fauna and flora. The territorial conditions have no analogs on the planet. It is rich not only in the funnel for around 30 tons of gold, a fifth of the world's rough diamonds, huge quantities of oil and gas, and a catalogue of other precious stones and minerals, but also in preserved rich and ancient roots of traditional cultures of indigenous peoples.

There are two official languages in the republic – Russian and Sakha. But people of many nationalities live here. The city has a Catholic, Orthodox, Muslim churches. Foreigners find Natives friendly, relaxed and very kind.

The climate of Yakutia is sharply continental: the amplitude of temperature fluctuations is from + 40°C in summer, to – 60°C in winter. The average air temperature in January is –43.2°C, in July +25.7°C.

Winter in Yakutia is long, cold and snowy. Summer is short, droughty with high temperature in greater part.

Qualifications:

British Educational Centre in Yakutsk invites CELTA (or equivalent) qualified native speakers of English with experience of teaching children, teenagers, adults and corporate clients to join their friendly team for the next academic year (starting in September 2013).

Requirements:

-Flexibility and adaptability

-Ability and desire to work as part of a team

-Enthusiastic and organised

-Communication Skills

Compensation:

-A full time contract (30 teaching hours a week).

-The groups have an average of 10 students.

-Teacher facilities include a equipped staff room with resource materials, photocopying, wireless internet access etc.

-The school is open 6 days per week and teachers work for 5 consecutive days.

-Free fully furnished single accommodation (very close to the centre)

-Lessons of Russian for free (8 hours a month)

-Russian and Sakha public holidays

-Interesting and eventful leisure time even in -50 C.

-National rites and customs

-Free visa invitation letter, visa registration and visa processing;

-25 days of paid leave per 9 month contract.
