TEACHERS WHO ARE NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKERS to teach in Ho Chi Minh city,Vietnam

Start date: June 2013

Compass Education offers a ‘Teacher Placement Program’ whereby local schools in and around Ho Chi Minh City can readily access highly qualified native English teachers. If a school requires native English teachers then we can also provide the curricula, the necessary resources and assessment procedures to deliver the right product. Our partnerships with various schools together with working in conjunction with TEFL International enable us to provide assorted opportunities for teachers. Variation and the tailoring of schedules by way of teaching at different schools can be rewarding. Interacting with students of diverse levels of English language competency is also interesting. We require enthusiastic, dedicated teachers who have authentic English pronunciation and who want a teaching position with a difference.

The Requirements of working for Compass Education

· Native English speaker

· English teaching certificate (TESOL, TEFL, CELTA or equivalent).

· Bachelor’s degree

· A police background clearance from your home country.

· A visa for initial entry into Vietnam.

· Experience in teaching primary school is advanced

The Benefits of working for Compass Education

· Based on qualifications and experience the gross pay 354,000vnd to 420,000vnd is per hour. Compass Education organises the payment of income tax

· Teachers are given 20 hours work a week ( flexible)

· Assistance is provided in the application of a working permit.

· Annual bonuses are given to teachers with outstanding teaching performance.

· Extra payment is given to teachers for participating in extra-curriculum activities such as culturally orientated events.

· Initial training is given plus training workshops are conducted twice a year.

PACKAGE 1: Full-time teachers who have a Bachelor’s degree without TEFL

Requirements.

• A Native English speaker (American, English, Canadian, Australian, Irish).

• A Bachelor’s degree or a diploma with at least two years completion.

• A ‘police background clearance’ from the teacher’s home country.

• A visa for initial entry into Vietnam.

• Experience in teaching at primary school level is an advantage.

Benefits of working for COMPASS Education

Payment: 800USD/month.

Accommodation: Provided (comfortable facilities including double bed, A/C, TV, wardrobe, private restroom, wifi).

Transportation: provided if the job is outside Ho Chi Minh City.

Teaching hours: 20hrs/week.

Timing:

‒ Monday to Friday: 7.15AM - 11.30AM; 1.30PM - 5.00PM

‒ Saturday: 7.15AM – 11.30AM; or 2.00PM – 7.00PM (it is dependent on the particular school schedule and teacher’s flexibility).

TEFL certificate 120hrs: offered at a low cost of just 500USD conducted at the COMPASS Education office.

Teachers will have to work for COMPASS Education for at least 6-9months.

Work permit: supported. If the teacher is committed to work for COMPASS Education over six months, then the cost will be borne by COMPASS Education

Term of contract: 6 to 9 months.

PACKAGE 2: Full-time teachers who have a Bachelor’s degree with TEFL certificate Requirements.

§ A Native English speaker (American, English, Canadian, Australian, Irish).

§ A Bachelor’s degree or a diploma with at least two years completion.

§ A ‘police background clearance’ from the teacher’s home country.

§ A visa for initial entry into Vietnam.

§ Experience in teaching at primary school level is an advantage.

Benefits of working for COMPASS Education

Hourly Pay rate:

‒ 17USD/hr gross for one month probation.

‒ 20-22USD/hr gross after probation time; this is dependent on the individual teacher’s work performance. Vietnam Income tax is 10%.

Accommodation: not provided

Transportation: Provided if the job is outside of Ho Chi Minh City.

Teaching hours: 20hrs/week.

Timing:

‒ Monday to Friday: 7.15AM - 11.30AM; 1.30PM - 5.00PM

‒ Saturday: 7.15AM – 11.30AM; or 2.00PM – 7.00PM (dependent on the particular school schedule and teacher’s flexibility).

Course length: 9 months.

Term of contract: 3months without a work permit and one year with a work permit.

PACAKGE 3: Teachers who do not hold a TEFL certificate and do not want to take the package 1.

Teachers take the TEFL course at COMPASS Education.

Course fee: 1390 USD over 4 weeks, classroom based – 120hrs.

COMPASS Education can guarantee a job after the teacher graduates if the teacher is suitably qualified according to COMPASS Education requirements.

Hourly pay rate; teaching hours and other benefits are the same as for Package 2.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS:

All teachers are encouraged to attend training workshops which occur more than twice a year.

Opportunities for classroom observation of experienced teachers who have been working for COMPASS Education for a considerable time.

Free 3 month Vietnamese lessons.
