We are recruiting for Teachers of English to work on behalf the UK’S leading international education and culture organisation in Hong Kong. This is an exciting opportunity that will enable you to develop and broaden your academic and professional skills. If successful you will be working a 35 hour week either between Wednesday – Sunday or Saturday – Wednesday. The majority of students at this centre are young learners and as such we are looking for candidates who are experienced at and enjoy working with young learners. The contract is a 2 year contract and will begin in August 2013. In addition to teaching and lesson preparation you will be expected to maintain accurate student records; carry out other administrative tasks to given deadlines, participate in projects and attend meetings and training workshops.
Main Duties Include:
•Plan, prepare and deliver high quality English language teaching that meets the needs of different customer groups, taking into account individual learning styles
•Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to help manage students’ performance throughout the course, and actively promote learner autonomy
•Contribute to the development, evaluation, and improvement of English language courses, materials and related services, in order to meet students’ needs by actively working as a member of the teaching team
•Actively engage in professional development and performance management to ensure quality and high standards in teaching and learning
•Support local marketing and promotional strategy, and assist the teaching centre team in delivering excellent customer service
Essential Criteria: To apply for the positions you MUST meet the client’s following requirements:
•Native English Speakers (or IELTS band of 8/9)
•Bachelor’s Degree (any subject but must be from an accredited university)
•Cambridge CELTA/ Trinity cert TESOL certification (alternative qualifications are not accepted, even if they are considered ‘higher’ including an MA)
•2 years’ EFL teaching experience (All experience MUST be post-qualification)
•Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with young learners, or hold the YL extension to the CELTA.
Package:
•Salary between HK$24,852 and HK$32,425 depending on qualifications and experience
•Airfares provided for staff and accompanying partner and children
•Baggage allowance of £1,200
•35 days leave per annum plus public holidays
•Medical Insurance program
•Settling-in allowance as well as up to two weeks’ hotel accommodation and subsistence if permanent accommodation is not available on first arrival.
•Support in finding accommodation including time off work for ‘house hunting’ provided
•Pension support
