Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) Needed in Japan
Fifth Wings is now recruiting Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs), preferably with previous experience as an ALT to work in Elementary Schools, Junior High Schools in the Sano, Iwafune and Ota areas for the school year 2013, from April 2013 through March 2014.
Applicants should be in Japan already or able to come to Japan.
POSITIONS: PUBLIC ELEMENTARY & JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLS.
*** APPLICANTS MUST BE A NATIVE OF THE FOLLOWING COUNTRIES. Canada, The UK, Australia, New Zealand, USA or from a country of which the first language is English or that lists English amonst its official languages and must have a command of English equivalent to that of a native speaker. Having an International Driver`s License would be a plus as well.
CONTRACT PERIOD: 1 year contract, start April 2013 and ends March 2014.
PAYMENT: ¥ 230,000 - ¥ 250,000 per month, depending on the position, location and experience.
Salary to be paid on the 10th of each month.
RESIDENCE: Accommodation will be found for the applicant. No key money, modern tidy apartment.
Teacher pays monthly rent of ¥ 55000, utilities, gas and power. In Japan, rent is paid at the beginning of the month.
FURNITURE: washing machine, refrigerator, microwave, and futon provided.
WORKING HOURS: Schedules vary depending on the Board of Education and the school you are working at. Classes range between 45 minutes - 50 minutes (including 10 minutes break).
TYPE OF WORK: Teach English to people in ages ranging from young children to adults. Experience with children is essential. Ability to relate to and have fun with children. Assist with English speech contest. Assist with seminars for English teachers. Participate in and assist with extra-curricular activities. Assist with other duties specified by the supervisor or the school principal at your workplace. At the Elementary & Junior High Schools the ALTs will be doing Team Teaching along with a Japanese Teacher.
REQUIRED BA/BS: TESL/TEFL/CELTA or teaching certification, and basic Japanese ability preferred but not necessary. Applicants must be of sound mental and physical health. Applicants must not have a criminal record.
VISA: Applicant required to reside in Japan. Full sponsorship available to applicant.
HOLIDAYS: All Japanese Calendar holidays are paid.

Positions are located in SANO & IWAFUNE, of the Tochigi Prefecture Japan. Ashikaga is about 1 1/2 hours away from the top of Tokyo by train. There are many things to do in SANO & IWAFUNE. There are many interesting places to visit including many shrines, hot springs and temples. The famous Ashikaga Gakkou (Ashikaga School) One of the first schools ever built in Japan is located nearby. Sano, Iwafune and Ota are beautiful cities with plenty to do, but still small enough so that the cost of living is way lower than living in Tokyo.
