School Overview:
HUBS Kuwait implements an American program and the national Arabic program to fulfill its mission as a bilingual school. The main language of instruction is English. This American program includes English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, PE, Arts, IT and an integrated character development program. The Arabic program includes Arabic Language, Islamic Education and National Social Studies.
HUBS Kuwait is the culmination of the vision and experience of a team of educators who are pioneers in international schools in the Middle East. The school started in 2007-2008 with PreKG - Grade 3 and has been adding one grade every year with the movement of its students into higher grades. The purpose of this approach to school growth is to make the lower grades (PreKG, KG1 and KG2) are the main point of entry to the school and to keep transfers in the elementary grades to the minimum. In 2012-2013, the sixth year for the school, very few/no students got into grade 1 from other schools. Grade 1 students would have spent at least two years at the school. This is especially needed considering the students are predominantly Kuwaitis and ESL learners. The school has witnessed a healthy growth from 130 students in its first year to 850 in 2012-2013.
The school has classroom teachers in grades PreKG - grade 3. Specialized teachers are hired for Grade 4 - 8. The majority of the American program classroom and specialized teachers are from North America and the UK and other Common Wealth countries. Those who are not citizens of these countries have qualifications and/or experience in western education systems.
