Ever wanted to teach in a tropical country (always 28-30C) with GREAT beaches, palm trees, cheap living cost, ancient culture, friendly locals and fantastic food? COME TO SRI LANKA!! (And don't forget the great surf locations we have here!)
Life Foundation is a registered non-profit organisation in Sri Lanka. We have several volunteer projects around the country where we place teachers and other volunteers. One of our aims is to give Sri Lankan students in poor government schools an opportunity to learn English from a native speaker.
We are looking for volunteers to teach English (1 month to 1 year -visa sponsored) in government schools around the island
Requirements:
• 18-50 years of age
• Good health
• Being open-minded, adaptable and flexible
• Respecting the local culture, religion(s) and customs
You will get:
-Airport pick up and drop off
-3 Day orientation in Colombo (including a Sri Lankan cooking course, a visit to Pinnawela elephant orphanage and tour of Colombo
-A free and non-compulsory option to join a 10 day Buddhist meditation course in a monastery (at the beginning or at the end of your contract)
-Free accommodation in a host family or other suitable accommodation for the duration of the contract
-Free food - 3 meals per day (Sri Lankan food) or a food allowance
-Some schools offer pocket money
-Visa assistance
-Between 10 and 25 hours of teaching a week
-2 Days off per week
-School holidays/ 1 Week holiday for ever 3 months work
