English Teachers, ICT Co-ordinator and Young Learner Co-ordinator

The British Council is the United Kingdom’s international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations.

English Teachers, ICT Co-ordinator and Young Learner Co-ordinator (Hanoi, Vietnam)

British Council Hanoi is expanding to meet a high demand for our children’s courses. A brand new branch was opened in March 2012 and we are recruiting for the following positions, starting on 25 August 2012.

- YL Co-ordinator

You will lead and support events and extra-curricular activities for Young Learners and Young Adults as part of the programme for students at British Council teaching centres in Hanoi. Your responsibilities will also include supporting the Senior Teacher Young Learners in providing training to teachers in good YL practice.

- ICT Co-ordinator

As a member of the teaching centre management team, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the integration of Information and Communications Technology into the learning programmes of British Council teaching centres in Hanoi (2 centres) and Haiphong. You will also have the opportunity to teach children, teenagers, adults, general English and skills courses.

- English Teachers

Joining a team of 25 teachers in Hanoi, you will deliver high quality lessons on our full range of courses and will be ready to develop your experience in all areas with highly motivated groups of Vietnamese students.

As we are committed to continuing professional development, we offer a full in- service training programme, funding for DELTA studies, and provide opportunities for intensive YL training as well as training to examine for IELTS. There are also opportunities to get involved in projects that support local teachers, as well as other British Council programmes.

Essential requirements for these posts:

- a high proficiency in English

- an undergraduate degree

- an internationally recognised certificate-level qualification i.e. Cambridge CELTA/Trinity CertTESOL

- Coordinator posts: an internationally recognised Diploma-level qualification i.e. Cambridge DELTA/Trinity DipTESOL

- at least two years’ post-certificate relevant teaching experience gained from a variety of age groups and levels particularly in young learners

- other requirements as stated on the role profile

We offer a relocation package including flights from the UK or equivalent country, settling-in allowance, baggage allowance, medical insurance and a competitive salary. The starting salary will depend on your qualifications and experience.

These posts are contracted for 2 years.
