General English Teacher

Eric Darrington

Job Description

General English Teacher

We are looking for experienced teachers for whom English is a first language to begin May/June 2012. Many of our courses are working towards international qualifications, and so a real desire to educate our students to a level where they not only pass, but excel, is essential. Experience teaching ESOL, Young Learners, IELTS and TOEFL would be a distinct advantage. An ideal candidate will be self-motivating, show initiative, maintain a professional attitude and be able to create a good rapport with the students.

The school provides a very good starting package, health insurance, flight and accommodation allowance.

New immigration requirements mean that a work-visa will NOT be issued to anyone without a degree. A Trinity or Celta certificate is also essential, as is a CV showing 5+ years experience. We will not accept anyone who is not a native English speaker.

Please do not apply if you do not meet these requirements.

Due to the many applications we receive, we will only reply to shortlisted candidates.

If you would like to join our team, please send an email to eric@casemedan.com, with a cover letter, CV and recent photograph. We look forward to hearing from you.

About CaSE:

An independently owned school, CaSE doesn't have the corporate, McDonalds atmosphere of some of our rivals. Instead, you'll find a small school owned by people who will support any teacher willing to pitch-in and support it. We have a relaxed, family feel to the place which is the reason why our students keep coming back again and again.

About Medan:

Medan is the third biggest city in Indonesia, but by South East Asian standards, has the feel of a rather overgrown village. Although not the most cosmopolitan of cities, it makes up for it by lying on the doorstep of the tropical rainforest for which Sumatra is famous. The renowned orangutan sanctuary in Bukit Lawang is just a couple of hours away. There is the opportunity to go jungle-trekking, rafting, river-tubing, elephant trekking and much more, all within a short distance of the city. For a long weekend, you'd be hard pushed to beat the relaxing tranquillity of Lake Toba.
