Teach English in Thailand-Multiple Locations Throughout

BFITS is a leading provider of English education programs to government and private schools throughout Thailand. We are currently interviewing for next academic school year (2012/2013) for English conversation teaching positions. We are looking for individuals that can arrive in Bangkok prior to May 1, 2012. The school year starts at the beginning of May. The first week of May will be spent learning the systems (grading, curriculum, etc.), preparing for the school year (reviewing lesson plans provided to adapt to your personal teaching style). For those available in March, the company is providing the required Thai cross-cultural training.

Programs:

Conversation English Program (CEP) is a basic 1-2 hour a week English conversation program attended by all students in the school.

Intensive Communicative English Program (ICEP) is a 3-6 hour a week English communication program (additional emphasis on reading and writing) attended by students who optionally enroll and are accepted into this special program.

NORTHEAST THAILAND:

Surin:

1. Grade 8 and 9 CEP Teacher: Teaching Grade 8 and 9 (M2 and M2) at a highly respected mixed (boys/girl) government school in Surin.

2. Grade 8 and 9 CEP Teacher: Teaching Grade 8 and 9 (M2 and M2) at a highly respected mixed (boys/girl) government school in Surin.

Buriram:

3. Grade 7 and 10 ICEP Teacher: Teaching Grade 7 and 10 (M1 and M4) at a private mixed (boys/girl) Catholic school in Buriram.

4. Grade 9 and 11 ICEP Teacher: Teaching Grade 9 and 11 (M3 and M5) at a private mixed (boys/girl) Catholic school in Buriram.

Nangrong:

5. Grade 1, 3 and 5 ICEP Teacher: Teaching Grade 1, 3 and 5 (P1, P3 and P5) at a private mixed (boys/girl) Catholic school in Nangrong.

6. Grade 2, 4 and 6 ICEP Teacher: Teaching Grade 2, 4 and 6 (P2, P4 and P6) at a private mixed (boys/girl) Catholic school in Nangrong.

Chaiyaphum:

7. Grade 1 and 3 ICEP Teacher: Teaching Grade 1 and 3 (P1 and P3) at a private mixed (boys/girl) Catholic school in Chaiyaphum.

8. Grade 2 and 4 ICEP Teacher: Teaching Grade 2 and 4 (P2 and P4) at a private mixed (boys/girl) Catholic school in Chaiyaphum.

CENTRAL THAILAND:

Thonburi:

9. Grades 8-12 CEP Teacher: Teaching Grades 7-12 (M2-M6) at a small mixed (boys/girl) private school in Thonburi near Cha Phraya.

10. Grades 7, 11 and 12 CEP Teacher: Teaching Grades 7, 11 and 12 (M1, M5, M6) at a large all boys government school in Thonburi near Cha Phraya naval base.

11. Grades 9, 11 and 12 CEP Teacher: Teaching Grades 9, 11 and 12 (M3, M5, M6) at a large all boys government school in Thonburi near Cha Phraya naval base.

Bangkok:

12. Grades 5 ICEP Teacher: Teaching Grades 5 (P5) at an all girls private Catholic school in Sala Daeng.

13. Grades 8 and 11 ICEP Teacher: Teaching Grades 8 and 11 (M2 and M5) at an all boys private school near Chinatown and Hulamphong train station.

14. Grades 9 ICEP Teacher: Teaching Grades 9 (M3) at a mixed (boys/girl) governmentschool near Central Lat Prao in the Bang Khaen area.

SOUTHERN THAILAND:

Suratthani:

15. Grades 7-9 ICEP Teacher: Teaching Grades 7-9 (M1-M3) at a mixed (boys/girls) public school located in downtown Suratthani.

Benefits:

• 33,000 baht (CEP) and 35,000 baht (ICEP) salary per month plus 500 baht per hour over 100 teaching hours/monthly.

• 10 month (CEP) and 11 month (ICEP) academic year contract that can be extended for additional years and additional benefits.

* CEP: 10 month contract with March/April as unpaid leave.

* ICEP: 11 month contract with April as unpaid leave.

*No reduced pay due to school holidays or reduced teaching hours

• Monthly supplemental attendance bonus of 750 baht per month.

• End of Contract bonus up to 30,000 baht.

• Guaranteed yearly 3% cost of living pay increase minimum.

• BUPA medical insurance paid.

• BUPA dental insurance paid.

• 1-2 weeks paid vacation (additional week for additional years of employment up to 4 weeks).

• All Thai government holidays off with pay (13-15 days annually)

* These are mandatory government holidays in addition to the paid vacation.

• 2-4 Paid personal/sick days (unused personal days reimbursed at 500 baht per day at end of contract).

• Assistance in obtaining a Non-B visa (Teacher must provide proper documentation-Original degree/TEFL).

• Visa extension, work permit, and teacher’s license paid by BFITS.

•Required "Thai Culture Course" for Work Permit/Visa paid by company.

• Assistance (if needed) in locating housing.

• Airport pickup. (if needed)

• Yearly professional development training provided for free during school breaks. Topics of training based on teacher requests and needs.

• Western Management.


Working Conditions:

• Teaching hours range from 20-25 a week.

• Class sizes range from 35-45 students per class with dedicated, air conditioned classrooms provided in some schools.

• School hours are approximately 08.00-15.30 Monday to Friday.

• Curriculum and lesson plans are already developed and provided to teacher.

• All teaching materials are supplied by BFITS (student books, worksheets, lesson plans, flash cards).

Responsibilities:

• Teach assigned subjects to assigned classes as per schedule provided.

• Adapt and deliver pre-written lessons from course teacher book provided by BFITS.

• Modify and adapt lessons to meet the needs of your class.

• Maintain weekly office hours.

• Maintain student grading/assessment using company online Learning Management System.

• Attend office meetings or professional development held during office hours (if/when needed).

Minimum Requirements:

• Native English Speaker (Passport and Degree from USA, Canada, UK, Australia).

• Bachelor's Degree.

• TEFL/TESOL Certification.

• Police Clearance.

• Basic Office/IT Skills.
