English Teachers Needed

English Teachers for Haiphong (Special Project)

British Council is recruiting for enthusiastic and experienced English Teachers for the seventh phase of an exciting one-year teaching assignment, based at the beach resort of Do Son, near the port city of Haiphong, Vietnam starting on 21 May 2012.

You will train groups of young government officers who have been selected for advanced study abroad, and have a set period of time to achieve the necessary level of English.

The courses are residential and intensive. The achievement targets will be challenging, but the students are of a high calibre and motivated. This will be an interesting and rewarding teaching situation, as you will be able to see and experience real progress, and develop close working relationships with Vietnam’s future high ranking civil servants.

The sixth phase of the programme is underway with very positive feedback, and we are now recruiting for the seventh phase on a one-year contract.

Key Requirements:

• first degree (from an English speaking country for visa purposes) in any discipline

• internationally recognised TEFL certificate (i.e. Cambridge CELTA/Trinity CertTESOL)

• minimum two years full-time relevant experience post TEFL qualification gained from teaching adults

• high proficiency in English

• self-motivated and strong interpersonal skills

You will receive an excellent package including flights from the UK (or equivalent location) to post, baggage allowance, allowance (beach front shared villas) and medical insurance. The monthly salary ranges from 2,906 USD to 3,689 USD and the starting point depends on your qualifications and experience.
