Employment Opportunity

The Saudi British Centre for Education and Development (SBC), accredited by Edexcel a leading provider of EFL instruction with language centers around Saudi Arabia is now recruiting Female English Language Instructors to teach at the Preparatory Year Program (PYP) at Princess Norah University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

This position is for the 2012-2013 academic year

Princess Noura University Candidates will work for SBC but work at the university. SBC invites applications for ELT instructors who are:

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality teaching.

• Work as a part of a teaching team.

• Be flexible in terms of classes taught and sessions taught.

• Implement curriculum and teaching techniques in a culturally sensitive manner.

• Maintain expertise and skills by attending professional development sessions when provided.

• Undertake required administrative processes and procedures.

• Undertake required quality assurance processes and procedures.

• Other duties as designated by the Academic Coordinators and Program Leaders.

• Contribute to the positive atmosphere and act in a manner that enhances team

spirit.

• Complete administrative tasks including daily attendance, reports, exam marking.

• Planning, preparation, and delivery of English language training to Preparatory Year students across all levels of proficiency,

• 40 hour-week, including up to 20 teaching hours, other hours are for lesson preparation, office hours, and associated duties, such as committee work, participation in test and curriculum development, and proctoring.

Requirements

• Qualified English teachers *from the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand (*must be passport holders and native speakers)

• Master’s degree in TESL or related field, such as Applied Linguistics, Language Education from an accredited university

Or

Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Communication or related field with a CELTA, Trinity TESOL, or DELTA

• An internationally accepted English language teaching certificate such as CELTA, DELTA, TEFL, TESL, or ESL, if the applicant’s degree is not in English Language Teaching and transferable skills

• Experience in assessment, curriculum planning or teacher training is preferred.

• Qualified teachers from other countries are also welcome but are expected to have the above qualifications with native-like fluency and communication abilities.
