We have a significant number of vacancies to cover our extensive Young Learner Summer Programme. Contracts will start on the below dates to include an induction, observation and training programme before starting teaching.
Contract Details
Summer contract (189 hours approx. over a 9 week period)
Start date in 2012 is:
•May 24th (til August 1st)
It is crucial that teachers arrive in Vietnam a couple of days before this date to get settled and be ready to start the induction on the above dates. Inductions are planned to start on these dates and are non-negotiable. Please note: these are the dates to start work, not to arrive in the country.
Teachers are contracted for 189 teaching hours over the time of the contract. Overtime is calculated and paid at the end of the contract on any teaching hours over the 189 contracted hours.
Teachers are expected to teach a range of programs, including the young learner summer program (to be expected nearly most or all schedule) and the adult public program, as well as the extra curricular activities program. Teachers also need to be aware that there are some off-site courses, particularly in Hanoi, and although they may be required to teach across the range of courses that we provide, the focus is likely to be on young learners.
Classes are scheduled from 7.30am to 9.45pm Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 9:45pm on Saturday, and 7:45am to 6:00pm on Sunday; teachers may be scheduled anytime during these hours, over a 5 or 6 day timetable. Generally, teachers are timetabled to work a 5-day week, with two consecutive days off.
Placement testing and attendance at extra curricular activities are paid at an administrative rate (2 administrative hours = 1 teaching hour.). Normal administrative duties such as preparing classes, marking tests, writing reports, attending in-house training and meetings, etc. are considered part of teaching duties and therefore there is no extra remuneration for these.

Qualifications:
& bull;Native English speaker
•CELTA/Trinity TESOL or equivalent (on-line certificates are not acceptable)
•BA or MA (if thinking about extending your contract after summer, (work permit restrictions)
•At least one year’s experience or B in CELTA
•Prepared to teach young learners, which is the focus of the summer programme
•Awareness and willingness to teach some off-site classes
•Enthusiasm, energy and a strong sense of cultural awareness are essential
Compensation:
o A competitive package at USD 220.00 per week.
Benefits include:
o Overtime rate at USD 20.00 paid for any hours taught over contracted hours
o Accommodation provided at a local hotel from (approx.) May 24th till (approx.) August 1nd.
o Meet & greet at the airport. Transportation to and from the airport on arrival and departure.
o Contract completion bonus of USD 250.00
o Flight allowance ranging from USD 250 (paid on arrival)
o Visa arrangement and costs
o Teaching within a friendly support team
