Assistant Academic Manager Position Available at ILA Vietnam

Assistant Academic Manager – Ho Chi Minh City

Located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City this is ILA's largest training centre. It occupies all nine floors of its custom designed building, has 65 classrooms, and includes the ILA Club, providing an area where students and staff can eat and relax. Young Learner classes are general English classes and offered seven days a week. Adult classes are a mix of general English and Exam Preparation and are offered Monday to Friday.

Scope:

The Assistant Academic Manager is responsible for working on a team for the day to day management and development of teachers on all teaching programmes, and will include some teaching also. The main focus is teacher management and quality control. Support and training is provided by the Academic Manager. In addition, the AAM will teach up to 30 hours a month.

Position start date: May 1st, 2012

Responsibilities:

• Teacher scheduling

• Induction of new teachers

• Teacher observations / appraisals / quality control

• Teacher development / support

• Testing and assessment

• Placement testing

• Teaching and substitute teaching

• Other academic and administrative duties as requested

Requirements:

• DELTA / Masters in TESOL or equivalent – (part completion may be considered)

• 3 years’ teaching experience (including experience with young learners)

• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills

• A great deal of energy and enthusiasm

• Ability to work in a team environment

• Experience working within reputable language teaching organizations

• Experience as an Academic Manager / Director of Studies is desirable but not essential as training and support will be provided.
