We are recruiting for Teacher Mentors to join our professional team on the English Language Teacher Development Project (ELTDP) based in East Malaysia. This exciting project is in partnership with the Ministry of Education in Malaysia.

Reporting to a project manager, you will be responsible for a cluster of five primary schools in the rural yet unique areas of Borneo. You will provide on-the-job mentoring and support for a small group of primary English language teachers. This is a rare professional opportunity for you to experience the cultural and environmental splendour and diversity of Sabah and Sarawak whilst making a real difference to classroom teaching and learning.

This post starts on 27 February 2012 with three types of contracts i.e. 6 months, 1 year or up to project completion on 30 September 2013.

Key requirements:

• aged 27 and above (a requirement under local Malaysian legislation)
• very high proficiency in English
• first degree
• internationally recognised TEFL certificate (i.e. Cambridge CELTA/Trinity CertTESOL)
• minimum two years full-time relevant experience post TEFL qualification particularly in the age groups 7 to 12 and adults
• experience of teacher training or mentoring is desirable
• willingness to work independently and flexibly in a challenging yet exciting context

Generous package and support:

• monthly gross salary ranges from MYR 7,695 to 9,996 (starting point on scale depends on your qualification and experience)
• project completion bonus if you stay until the end of the project
